What really upsets me about that play is that it pretty much directly led to Westbrook getting his 50-point triple double. If that call is made correctly, he wouldn't have even come close to 50 points. But instead of a turnover, he ends up hitting the 3 and then he scored like 6-7 more points after that to get to 51. So now the media gets to slobber all over his 50-point triple double that never should have happened in the first place.

If you tap a ball out of bounds, that's a turnover, the half court line is supposed to be out of bounds for the team with possesion, including inbounding

    Possible refs thinking...

Westbrook had been as much a Rockets player as a Thunder one in these last few minutes.

    Ball deflected by a Rocket?

That is an example of poor officiating. I'm not sure how the refs missed that. It looked so obvious and wasn't called, that I started to second guess myself. I was thinking, that I must have missed something because there is no way professional refs would miss something so obvious.

Read the rest of the thread. Seems like the refs got it right.

So can we all agree that the refs were NOT trying to screw us over?

That's a very obscure rule. Never knew it.

    Change of plan.

The refs missed all those obvious calls but somehow got this ONE obscure one right.

Would would this be different in the last two minutes of the game?

Yep. It looks like from that video post, that it might have been the correct call. I'm happier about that.

So from this, Westbrook shouldn't have been allowed to touch the ball again in the backcourt?

So confusing... And why this exception for the final 2 minutes anyway? So unnecessary...

Their team can't get the ball, if westbrook was running backwards and taking possession of the ball carried him over the half court, that would be fine, but that's not what happened. He failed to take control and knocked it into the back half, in effect the rule is saying 1 motion is ok, 2 motions are not.

The rule has an exception quite literally for that situation that makes it a violation
