I sometimes grow frustrated at his lack of offense and his fumbling of the ball but you have to realize that if he had those skills, we would not be able to get this guy at just $8m per year.

People forget how bad Chuck was at layups, etc. when he first showed up.

It took him 3 years to turn into a solid finisher. Give Omer some time

I don't remember Hayes being as bad as Omer has been. Chuck became more accurate and more crafty, but pound for pound he was better than Omer at finishing around the rim. Omer isn't just simply missing shots, he's barely touching rim or not even able to get off the attempt. He needs to try a different approach.

he's kept the rockets in games, and out of them at the same time.

Chuck was one of my favourite Rockets all time but I still remember his first couple of years, he was missing uncontested layups. He even blew a fastbreak by failing to score a layup with nobody around him, he was driving me crazy.

Ive been so impressed with this guy. He is the best thing that happened to us this season/off-season. He is my favorite player on this team now.

Dont really care about his offensive limitations. What he brings for us in defense and rebounding is far more important.

I think he's been pretty sung actually.

He has people talking with his monster rebounding.

he missed layups constantly when he had chances. got so much **** for it on this board. His last 3 years were so much better that it made people forget

You forget--he was here as a D leaguer, then a 12th man, then an 11th man. If he could have made layups back then, he probably could have earned more time. I guess the difference is that Omer gets the PT even with that deficiency because of his size and the other skills that were common to them both

another great game by Omer on D. Showed some offense getting 14 points and should've had another 2-3 buckets easy. Rebounds were down but he played less minutes as well to give him a breather.

Haven't read everybody's replies, but the FT shooting is a big help. I think he's around 70% for the year. That shows that he's working and that teams can't just foul him in a close game. Kudos.

Chuck's 2 best seasons as far as finishing his shots around the basket were year 1 and year 2 (with JVG). A big part of that was due to the attention Yao and Tracy would draw, of course.
