The show is done, which is what Netflix had to do. Kevin Spacey's acting career is also probably done, for a while at least. He and his advisers turned a very bad situation into a political disaster. The guy is now radioactive.
Even though I haven't followed this closely, sounds like this happened liked 30 years ago, probably wasn't even that serious of an act, more like an overly aggressive unwanted advance if you look at it objectively, and so I don't see it really stopping his career from going forward. Think they should have just kept the show rolling along unless there are more accusations. Believe he could rebound even faster than Mel Gibson did, as both transcend their poor behavior by being so good on camera.
Nah, it's not a single incidence, link to my post on this: There have also been new accusations today. PS: The original case (and other rumored ones) involves a minor, not sure why you'd think that's not "that serious".
Objectively, even if was 60 years ago, offering to blow a 14 year old kid is the epitome of "overly aggressive" and "unwanted."
Sorry to hear about this. Kevin Spacey is a tremendous actor. That doesn't always jive with being a "tremendous person" in real life, which seems to be the case here. His career is likely finished. I could care less about Spacey being gay, but I care very much about the man being a sexual predator, if the stories are true.
I had hoped it wasn't as serious as it now looks to be. He is one of my favorite actors. Oh well. I wonder if they'll try to continue the show without him or what.
He has no allies. The Gay Community is not happy about this at all. From what I have read because it brings up old nasty stereotypes. Everyone is upset because he is a perv. . . . . . I am truly shocked by this because. . . . I just did not think him the type. He seems like such a decent dude . . . . Rocket River
QUESTION: Will they go after him legally? Like they did Cosby? or has the Statutue of limitations run out? Rocket River
For what exactly? Some states have no statue of limitations for engaging in sexual behavior with a minor. In the first allegation, no sexual act was taken place. There are recent allegations that could lead to actions. If any of this is true, I hope he is convicted.
Looks like 8 people are standing up now . . .. so I suspect something will happen MAN! Spacey is looking like a major predatory monster Rocket River http://people.com/movies/kevin-spac...uct-by-eight-house-of-cards-employees-report/ Kevin Spacey Accused Of Sexual Misconduct By Eight ‘House Of Cards’ Employees: Report Former "House Of Cards" Staffer Accuses Kevin Spacey Of Sexual Assault Kevin Spacey created a “toxic” work environment on the set of House of Cardsthrough a pattern of sexual harassment and assault, eight employees who work on or used to work on the show told CNN. All eight current or former employees spoke out anonymously for fear of reprisal. They all alleged to the outlet that Spacey displayed “predatory” behavior on the set of the Netflix show, touching employees without consent and making lewd comments towards staffers who were usually young men. PEOPLE reached out to representatives for the actor, Netflix and House of Cardsproduction company MRC in regards to the allegations made to CNN but did not receive any immediate response. The actor’s agency CAA and his publicist have since announced they have parted ways with the actor, according to Deadline.

Have no motivation to watch it. That show really took a dive off a cliff once he became President. Now it kinda makes sense, finding out that Spacey was an awful POS to work with. Having everyone miserable on that show no doubt contributed to its downfall.
In addition to Spacey's behavior, once they started to diverge from the original source material, you could see everything starting to fall apart.
I was pretty disappointed in the season prior to this last one...and I never really liked Robin Wright in her role, so when they made it all about her I knew I wasn't going to check out the last season. Glad to hear I wasn't missing much.
