Not sure how many people care. We just had a real life presidential election that is crazier than anything a writer could come up with.
Thats the problem with Hollywood. They will over exaggerate actual events.... which is what they exactly did. I loved HOC as it was pretty well grounded but I feel its starting to drift off into unrealistic story lines.
It was ok. Not as intense and interesting as the previous seasons. Spoiler The move toward Claire focus . . . not sure how this will go. Rocket River
I thought season 5 was going to be the last? They are getting really close to dragging this out too long.... I enjoyed the season, but they need to end it in season 6.
I'm on the last episode, wife and I have enjoyed it but I've enjoyed the series throughout. Spacey and Robin Wright are just so good......
Cancelled by Netflix today http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/netflix-spacey-house-of-cards-netflix-1202602359/
My first thought was "woah". My second though was absolutely, makes a ton of sense. Respond aggressively and move on. Netflix has moved way beyond House of Cards from original content perspective. As a show watcher, it would have been nice to have it wrapped up though. Well... nm. That's likely what was going to happen anyway.
The show not being renewed is not related to this allegation. I wonder why news articles are trying so hard to give this impression? I think the furor over how Spacey responded to this is a bit much. One inappropriate incident in decades past shouldn't define a person. He should have left the second paragraph off, and let his apology stand in its own. I don't know if his intention was to deflect attention; if so it was a stupendously stupid miscalculation. I think he was being genuine in trying to be honest about who he is. The argument that he is conflating being gay with making a pass at a 14 year old kid is presumptuous, and I didn't read it that way at all. Obviously if he was making a pass at a teenage boy, he is sexually attracted to men.
There's been a ton of rumours and stories for years, this wasn't a single incidence. Difference is males are much less likely to go public about sexual incidents with the same gender. Six months old comment on reddit that sums everything up: Kevin Spacey loves to meet straight men at parties and events, and use his celebrity to lure them to after parties where he gets them drunk and high, and then suddenly tries to blow them. He's another Bill Cosby. He's well known in Hollywood for harassing male staff on productions. And he famously made a false police report a few years back after he was assaulted by one of the many men he's tried to blow. He picks his victims perfectly, because what straight man would want to be famous worldwide for accusing Kevin Spacey of a sexual assault? And the staff he harasses on productions are too afraid of destroying their careers to say anything. Kevin Spacey is a disgusting scumbag. Other people also chimed in on this comment, one saying his 14yr old male friend was harassed by Spacey on set. Remember, this was before the recent public accusation and outing.
Hearing about him is very disappointing I liked him. Never thought he would be this guy I thought the show had jumped the shark anyway Rocket River
