Sliders was a great show. Sliders was about parallel universes, so they could always pull off different realities. The quickest way to wreck a show is using time travel. There are so many examples of this. And a show that uses time travel as its baseline has absolutely no chance of making it. The pilot has already wrecked any future this show might have by using so many time travel cliques. For example, Logan, the Delta Force soldier, drops all composure because he needs to save the reporter despite being told not to. Barnett is the token black guy who's skin color is going to be used to move plot lines. Preston freaks out when she found out she erased her sisters history. This show will become completely unwatchable (like Heroes) if its going to be driven entirely by emotions. That said, they did a pretty good job of recreating the past. 11.22.63 was pretty decent and did time travel fairly well (imo). The show set its own rules on time travel and did not try to get all scientific on explaining why. It told a story and wrapped it up all as a mini series.
Yeah I watched the first episode because of this thread. It does look interesting and different, but I don't know if I would add it to the rotation.
Checking out AFTERMATH It is a big pile of Meh. It has some interesting things going on but seems like too much They want to mix Science and some magic it seems We got Demons and Solar Flares . . . . . . The Family is not coming off as overly likeable. Rocket River
Yea . . . In fact already getting that Fear The Walking Dead feeling of maybe wanting some family members to just die Rocket River
Episode 1 of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - I tried it not appealing Evidently Sara Lance has the mutant power to find every closeted lesbian and bring the freak out of them in the history of mankind Rocket River
Black Mirror is back on Netflix. First episode is good, not great. Still excited about the other episodes. Didn't realize Bryce Dallas Howard, from Jurassic World fame, got so thick. I picked up Insecure on HBO. It's from the same women who did Awkward Black Girl on YouTube. ABG was an amazing, progressive project on YouTube, it was great. It looks like she brought the EXACT concept to HBO and IMO it's off. If this show came maybe 2 years ago it would have been good. With more innovative shows, like Atlanta, this show might get left in the dust.
Sliders sucked. I remembered liking it at the time so I decided to rewatch the series a few years ago, especially since I didn't really see the later seasons once it moved to SciFi. It was a total slog to get through. The show went completely off the rails after Season 2. But even those first episodes that I liked as a kid really didn't hold up very well and weren't as great as I remembered them being.
YEA!! She got Very Thick! 'Dem Legs Dough!" I spent the first part of the episode thinking it was part of the plot or something. Insecure - Episode 1 was better than 2 I will give it the season . . . Atlanta has set a different bar . .. I think it would get more praise if it came out before ATLANTA Rocket River
There are so many good shows that are on now it's hard to choose Westworld ,DS,Atlanta is so funny I like all of the Chicago story line Luke Cage was great.
I tried REAL GENIUS and it was just so boring and predictable Falling Water is interesting but dammit it is developing far too slowly. I fell off on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW the cross over and lack of anything else to watch has me checking out back episodes Rocket River
It will definitely get two more episodes. If I'm still there after that I'm in for the season. Van Helsing has been surprisingly good. as has The Exorcist Looks like Into the BadLands is about to start up again Rocket River
Really? crap.. I stopped watching after the first episode and forgot to pick it back it up. There is just way too much TV on; I can't keep up.
