Offensiveness about statutory rape is like p*rnography... "I will know it when I see it", or in this case, when I hear it. And... since carlson said it at least twice... pretending it didn't happen, or giving him a pass on it doesn't seem sufficient.

Media Matters says: says "comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media".

And Media Research Council: "MRC’s sole mission is to expose and neutralize the propaganda arm of the Left: the national news media. This makes the MRC’s work unique within the conservative movement."

Do you think that's what they're doing? By digging up interviews with shockjock from 10 years ago

so basically they did what you are doing now?

do you think it was wrong for joy reids years-old comments to be dragged up?

personally, i think its fair game and i also think joy reid is a douchebag...not just for what she tweeted years ago, but also for the fact that instead of taking responsibility and apologizing her first instinct was to claim her social media was hacked.

but tucker carlson is a much, much bigger douchebag.

Anyone who talks with this much division, hate, and separatism has an agenda, and that agenda is usually protecting monetary interests.

He speaks a lot, says nothing. He is distracting from real issues.

I'm pointing out the double standard.

I personally am against any organization that tries to use mob tactics to try to silence anyone. Media Matters have been doing this for a while now and are highly regarded by the left.

I couldn't find the latest audio clip on Iraqi 'primitive monkeys' and immigrants. In Normal times, who cares. He doesn't hold office like a Steve King. But there is someone out there binging on McFillets that forms all his talking points from these people.

    Quick question,

Other than your attempt to deflect, what do actually THINK about what Carlson said?

These were my first thoughts as well. That particular argument is actually that offensive? Am I in the wrong to think otherwise?

Sounds like you spend all your time trying to find ways to excuse bad behavior of those you support

I slept with one of my teachers in high school a number of times over three years in high school. I don’t feel like I was raped in anyway.

You can call me wrong or a monster but I don’t equate a 16-17 year old boy sleeping with an adult as the same as a violent or forced rape.

I don’t agree with Tucker Carlson on a lot of things but I am not overly upset at his comments on high school boys sleeping with their teachers.

No, a lot of people feel the way you do, they just do not express their opinions as they either don’t want the criticism it brings or they simply don’t care enough to respond.

I slept with a professor in her late 20's while I was a student in my early 20's. I was taking a class from her, a graduate psychology class on altered states of consciousness. She was a brilliant woman who ended up leaving to take a position at Berkeley, doing research. Was that wrong? I aced the class, but it wasn't because of "undue influence." There can be an honest difference of opinion about whether it was out of bounds. It was for her, of course, university rules, but was it for me? There is a huge difference, though. We were both adults. It was a very good year.

I think Carlson is an *******, pure and unadulterated, and the fact that Fox gives him a platform for all the twisted, cruel, and divisive things he spouts says plenty about the "news" network, none of it good. Still, it's talk, and we're allowed to talk, unless we're yelling fire in a movie theatre. Anyone who listens to him regularly should go into therapy, but no one is making him or her pay any attention to the corrosive cretin. It is their own choice, as demented as it may be.

Carlson shouldn't apologize. Capitulating to these hate mobs never works. They won't accept an apology and want to see a person in the street, never working again because of their wrong think. It has nothing to do with his behavior. They could care less and aren't offended by it, nor do they watch the network it happened on. The more disgusting thing about all this is the see-through bahavior of people calling for his firing. Everyone is so quick to try to get people fired these day, and they then would harass the next person who hires the guy. Until he has to work on Youtube by himself, then they'll harass Youtube for allowing him a platform. These people won't stop until you have nothing. They seek power, nothing more.

Nietzsche identified this type of person long before our time and said it best:

In one of those conversations he was discussing a person that raped a twelve year old (granted I don't know if that was known at the time), so I'm not so sure I can give him a pass.

I actually think FoxNews will end up in a precarious situation (maybe jump started by the campaign coordination of the burying of the stormy Daniels situation) where prosecutors in NY or DC end up essentially name them as an arm of the Trump campaign.

Therefore making Tucker and Hannity etc. as comms people for the president ... which we all know they are regardless.

Tucker and co. Represent the Trumplican party far more and have far more influence than Steve King ever will.
