Schools are a government instituion but no ine is sending her to jail. They have their rules

People throw out 1stAmendment when it isnt applicable. If you're fired for stating political views, the first amendment won't get your job back

Yeah like education is not part of government. Your example is not relevant to the situation at hand.

    I said that.

That being said no one is stopping her first amendment. School has rules. What if she said sge doesn't want to do an assignment because she doesn't agree?

What if a public school decides that all students are required to do the Islamic Magrib prayer at sunset?

The RULES forces her to stand thereby takes away her rights. This is established law.

Writing an assignment has no relevance to the topic at hand. You clearly don't understand basic knowledge of the first amendment. It is sad I thought you were smarter than that. I guess I was mistaken.

Your premise was "the school has rules" and no one is forcing her thus not violating her first amendment. That is what you typed in the statement before my comment .

The "the pledge teaches civics" is a subjective argument and forcing someone to say speech even if it's subjectively "pro-civics" is against the first amendment.

From your premise it is implied that there is a supply slope. If she denies standing up for the pledge which is a "school rule" then what would make her refuse an assignment? Btw, she can refuse to do an assignment. She would just reciever a grade of 0 for that assignment.

So I'll ask again, what if the school rule was all students must perform magrib prayer?

Honestly at this point I don't know if you are just playing a giant shtick because your arguments are almost indefensible. No one agrees with you here from our most conservative posters to our most liberal ones. It's such a stupid argument. A publoc school can't compel a child to speech especially speech that has religious tones to it: "under God".

Again what civic lesson is taught by compelling someone to recite the pledge?

"Words uttered under coercion are proof of loyalty to nothing but self-interest" Do you understand this quote?

By your logic a lot of lessons in school are subjective.

Even your trolling is sub par. Your lack of intelligence really shows in this thread sadly.

Which includes the first amendment. You can't even refute or address my points. This is sad. You should just walk away from this. It is embarrassing
