More like we got 2 teams now! James Harden Eric Gordon Trevor Ariza Ryan Anderson Clint Capela Chris Paul PJ Tucker Luc Richard Mbah a Moute Gerald Green Nene Damn thats like 2 NBA teams. Okay might not be playoff teams but either can still be the Mavs!
If Nene is out, then would you rather have Ryno bang against the likes of DJ, Gobert, and Drummond down low or Tarik Black?
I don’t want set rotations I want to play what is working against match ups. I want to play our all-timers as little as possible and our mop up crew (developmental) as much as possible because we are just blowing teams off the court. Up by 20+ going into the 4th should be our goal for every game. I want 12+ players playing on most nights.
I don’t trust him. Don’t trust Nene to make it through a long playoff run either. The Rockets need another 5 who can play D. The roster seems a bit over saturated with wings right now.
Sounds like Gerald (and maybe Tarik) might be the odd man out. D'Antoni will have some challenging juggling to do if he is to extend his rotation beyond the nine players he used when the team was last at full strength to 10 with the addition of Green. He can continue to rotate Harden, Paul and Eric Gordon, keeping Harden to 34 minutes, Paul to 32 and Gordon to 30, with an extra few minutes when all three play together. Ariza and Mbah a Moute can split the remainder of the 48 minutes at small forward, with Ryan Anderson and P.J. Tucker doing the same at power forward. Both can pick up a few extra minutes at center in small lineups, spelling Clint Capela and Nene. Mbah a Moute or Ariza can get extra playing time at power forward. All of that, however, does not include Green, who provided an important boost of scoring when Harden was out and can be valuable enough to merit playing time. Squeezing him in would reduce court time of players D'Antoni considers starters, whether they actually start. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...s-as-big-for-Rockets-as-win-over-12513809.php
It's like the league wants all the regular season matchups to be at less than full strength. Have all rotation players been available for any of the 3 GSW/Rockets games this season? Beating GSW without Ariza is nice, but they were without Iggy, so let's not pretend we beat them at full strength. Iggy is a damn good player, especially off the bench.
This has been discussed and rehashed in other recent threads. Bottom line the Rockets beat a Warriors team with their Big 4 playing and trying to win. Rockets are a problem for the Warriors as long as the rockets are healthy. That is all...
I don't think it's like....juggling 10 chainsaws on fire. It's more like, find 8 minutes in the 2nd quarter for Green to get on the court and run. Which is totally feasible on paper. In-game, maybe less practical but there will be ample opportunity to see Green and Black on the court. Frankly, there's no reason to let them sit. Big game like saturday night, maybe not but tonight? Against the Heat? Don't see a reason why Green can't get in for 4 minutes to give Harden an extra break in the 2nd quarter.
I think Green gets minutes. I know MDA loves his 7-9 man rotation but I think with the success of green he will make exceptions and maybe actually start to rest some players.
