That was on first down....what killed the flow of the drive was Hoyer's 15th interception of the day.
Just saying... Lots of people criticizing the play call, but I'd say Watt's ego had lots to do with the decision there.
That's a fairly ridiculous stretch. The play call happened because they have had success in the past with off the wall crap like that. Personally if you are going to have Watt on the field on offense, he needs to be a TE.....but that said, Hoyer is simply too terrible at football to get the ball to anyone so they just cut out the pass and wanted to see what they could get. I don't blame them for trying it on first down.
No, an ego would have been apparent if Watt told the coaches to have him try that play again. It was a perfectly fine call.
Look at this douche bag article http://sports.yahoo.com/news/chiefs...able-run-050808116.html?bcmt=comments-postbox
The two comments named Jeremy are my comments on his article. I think we should all comment to the author how stupid his article is

it is stupid. the chiefs had done what on offense before watt tweaked that groin? hoyer was doing all the work for the chiefs on both sides.

The Texans aren't exactly known for being good or even ok in goal line situations, especially against solid defenses. Their lack of success there is what forced Ricks hand a bit to think outside the box. The fact that Hoyer threw a pick the next play speaks to that imo and not to some loss of momentum that play caused. Houer wasn't exactly lighting it up on that drive. It was the one Blue run that did it. Maybe they should have kept it simple with 3 run plays with their traditional backs. Goal line Hoyer is not good either
Don’t even get Francesa started with any comparisons between Watt and New York Giants Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor My first thought when reading "NY guy ripping Watt"... JJ is a serious threat to Lawrence's legacy, so NY will hate. There's no coincidence KC's offense didn't score a TD until Watt got hurt. I'm betting Mike will be really mad when Watt matches Taylor's DPOY count in a couple of weeks.
put francesca in at qb to do nothing but hand off and we'd be up 10-7 going deep into the 3rd quarter. That's how special watt is. and thanks to you hoyer, we forget the awesome game the merciless one and cushing were having. ohhhhh Alex smith missed a receiver wide open. You know why? because in the previous play he got laid the f ooout, same with the tip int he got. So no credit goes to KC. You're just the team that played hoyer in the spotlight. acting like you knocked down watt. pssh. that said, i'll be cheering for the chiefs or broncos to get to the superbowl.
I would be willing to bet that random loud-mouth New York media guy has probably only seen Watt a few times on national television and hasn't actually done much research.
