It's hard to gauge offensive players in this system. Is it the player or the system? Was it that Strong didn't run routes well or didn't know how to create separation? It seemed like when they gave him a chance or called plays for him he actually delivered.
Jones was solid. I don't remember who they kept instead but our line could very easily be Brown-Jones-Martin-Brooks-whoever you want at RT with that solid of a line Giacomini would probably work. Geez, you could roll XSF out there and it would probably work. Don't understand the Strong move. Less so to replace him with the guy you cut to keep him 2 weeks ago. Definitely buying any theory suggesting he was tired of OBreins doghouse. I know Cushing has some guarantee don't money this year but took a hit to the bank account with the suspension. Not sure if that would become guaranteed if they cut him though. Shoot I can't believe Anderson or mccarron aren't getting a shot. Did Andy jones even play in the preseason?
It is simple. You are witnessing a crappy organization from the owner all the way down. There is no central mission or direction. There is no clearly defined roles or transparency. Stop trying to figure it out, there is no reason to incompetence. Someone liked him so he was drafted and someone else didn't like him enough to play him. Just accept it is a crappy organization. Someday it will change but right now the people making decisions are bad.
I guess I was wrong about him. Still like him though and wouldn't be surprised to see him produce with another team. Seahawks and GB are two spots where I would like to see him go. Hell, watch the Pats pick him up in time for the game against us and he puts up 2 TDs.
