Looks like Marco Belinelli picked Philly....Good for us...didn't want to see him on the Warriors or Okc
BW was 6'9 coming out of college. He may have added ain inch or two but in either case he plays bigger due to his 7'5 wingspan and above the rim play. Capela also came into NBA at 6'9 with same wingspan.
I think Nene is still a stud, and will be ready to dominate again when the playoffs roll around. No way in hell Wright takes his spot as long as Nene is healthy. Rockets are doing a wonderful job Popoviching Nene to the playoffs.
a huuuge signing...rockets and harden struggle without that pnr/lob threat..we are what 2-5 or something when capela doesn't play
The Rockets’ struggle without Capela has as much to do with how poor his replacement (Black) was, than just how good CC has been.
More excited about Wright than about ISO Joe. The lob threat is real but only exists with Capela. When is he supposed to suit up?
Wright has averaged 14 pts, over 2 blocks, 8 rbs and a steal per 36 over the last 3 seasons in Memphis. He's a good defender and rim-protector; excellent insurance if Clint goes down. He could really thrive in our offense -play some of his best ball; he' got the athleticism. It's a great buyout signing; Black wasn't working. Our high scoring offense will give Wright a chance to elevate his game.
Plenty of advantages to being able to catch tough bounce passes, which Clint and Wright struggle with, while Nene has fantastic mitts. Check out Amare Stoudamire, for example. Almost all bounce passes, which is often easier for small PGs, ala Chris Paul, to throw.
Echoing this question. Will he play tonight? Seems like a good idea to throw Wright against 1) one of his former teams and 2) THE MEJ!

Memphis waived Wright 18 hours ago. Has to clear waivers(48 hours) then he'll sign. Kings, as far as I've seen, haven't officially waived Johnson yet. As Ben explains, don't expect to see either until after the all-star break. Wright may not see playing time until after the All-Star break, which begins following next Wednesday’s home game against the Sacramento Kings. After Wright formally agrees to terms with the Grizzlies on his contract buyout (settling the remainder of his $6-million expiring deal) on Friday night, he will then be released and must go through the NBA’s standard 48-hour waiver wire process. Passing through waivers is a mere formality before Wright signs his deal, since any claiming team would be on the hook for his full figure to their salary cap — as well as the fact that only a select few non-contending teams have that level of cap room to begin with. However, inevitable as it may seem, Wright cannot officially sign with or practice for the Rockets until that time period elapses. Considering that delay, Houston’s compressed schedule with three games in four days between Sunday and Wednesday (meaning no practices on those days), and the usual standard that head coach Mike D’Antoni utilizes of not playing new acquisitions before going through a practice, and it seems likely that Wright‘s debut will have to wait until after the All-Star break.
I'm okay with this. A whole week for Wright and Johnson to get a break from the grind, while also learning some of the playbook.
