Canaan is really fun to watch, he might be a marginal NBA playa but that dude could be Mighty Mouse on a good day. Spoiler
Canaan is actually relatively decent. He does better when he isn't shackled too much. Let him shoot, let him take it to the basket. Don't make him overthink the game. God knows he understands the system here. I always thought it laughable when McHale would say, "Well, we'd play him more but he has to work on his defensive principles," when Parsons and Harden were busy playing turnstile D; hey, what's one more gonna hurt? At least now we have guys who can play defense and have Canaan's back (a little).
Nice pickup - let him gain some confidence playing in the next couple of weeks and I think he'll be a great backup for the rest of the season
This was actually very impressive! He was tiring towards the end but still gave it everything and made a difference in slowing down Thomas. One thing from the video: when the ball left Thomas' hands on passes, Canaan lost focus for a few moments and didn't pay attention to the off-ball movement from where Thomas gets a step ahead of him. Otherwise, he stayed toe to toe on defense and was disruptive to the Celtics offensive flow. Good show.
That’s the rumor I’ve heard. When I first reported the Canaan signing on Friday. He wanted a big “black” man to tarik his balls.
Feigen really needs to write one of his profile pieces about this question. Get the quotes about how Harden wants him here, and be done with it. Let us know what he does for our superstar. Seems like a good human-interest story to me. It's like Feigen is ignoring the Elephant in the room roster spot, and counting on that we won't notice that he does a column piece on every player, at least once, but apparently not Bobby Brown.
They had him on the pregame show before the Grizzlies game. Would be cool to see him do more of the media relations stuff since that is evidently a strength of his.
