Wow, this article, from August 1, 2017. And nowt rump admits he dictated the statement (after numerous denials). What else is now true from that article?

Trump discussed adoption policy with Putin one day before 'dictating' son's statement about 'adoptions'

The statement did not mention that Donald Trump Jr. had been offered compromising information about Hillary Clinton in exchange for taking the meeting. And it was crafted by the president one day after he discussed "adoptions" with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a dinner at the G20 summit. Asked about that dinner later, Trump told the New York Times that he and Putin "just talked about things. Actually, it was very interesting; we talked about adoptions." The fact that Trump and Putin spoke about the adoption issue — which is intimately connected to the US' sanctions policy— the night before Trump reportedly crafted his son's statement about the Trump Tower meeting raises questions about whether Putin played a role, directly or indirectly, in influencing the version of events Trump's team relayed to the press.

Putin had already given Trump one talking point during their first, formal meeting, however, that the president subsequently relayed to his aides, according to the New York Times: Namely, that if the Russians had hacked into the Democratic National Committee, they wouldn't have gotten caught.

Ex-Fox News analyst who quit network ‘convinced’ Putin has ‘grip’ on Trump

Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a former Fox News analyst who left the network amid claims of pro-Trump bias, said late Wednesday that he believes President Trump is hesitant to take a hard stance against Russia because Russian Vladimir Putin "has some grip" on the U.S. leader.
"When I first learned of the Steele dossier, it just rang true to me, because that’s how the Russians do things. And before he became a candidate or president, Donald Trump was the perfect target for Russian intelligence," Peters said on CNN, referring to a dossier of salacious allegations about the president's ties to Russia. "Here is someone who has no self-control, a sense of sexual entitlement and intermittent financial crisis," he continued. "I mean, that’s made-to-order for seduction by Russian intelligence."

Dictators and dictator-wannabees love one another. Putin and Xi Jinping and cozying up even as we speak, now that China has gone to the dictator-for-life model.

I cannot, for the life of me, see what shreds of logic Trump's defenders cling to when it comes to his horrifically anti-American-prosperity-and-safety version of international "diplomacy." Shredding our ties to long-time allies is just purely stupid, and perhaps even treasonous. But hey, it makes liberals mad! Yea!

Russia’s state-run media channel Russia 24 wants everyone to know that President Donald Trump belongs to Moscow.

Responding to reports that Trump told world leaders at the G-7 meeting in Canada last week that Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula is Russian because everyone there speaks Russian, the hosts of the Russian version of 60 Minutes victoriously declared that “Crimea is ours, Trump is ours.”
