Lance Berkman - but I'm not interested. More of a baseball guy, as you may know.

Always wondered, why don't companies buy sports teams? Like is it impossible for Exxon Mobil to buy the Rockets?

Me and Jontro will sell some of our mint condition Pokemon cards, should be enough, depending on how valuable my Charizard is.

I'm curious to see the bidding groups, but Yao would be a tremendous part of an ownership group. Given Adam Silver's comments about China and the NBA, I'd imagine he would be very supportive of a Yao-led (or involved group) being in the running.

Normally, there's already a buyer, right? before they announce something like this?

Please no asian investor, no former players, no mattress mac.

We need someone who can market this BRAND to higher grounds.

Tillman so far is the only one I like. The amount of support he put into U of H Football was amazing.

He loves the Rockets. It's like having Mark Cuban on your side. He will do whatever.

Dude i got secret wars 8, the first printing of black suit spidey according to the marvel timeline and amazing spider-man 252 the first time the public saw black suit spidey.

(252 came out before 8 but 8 takes place further back in the marvel timeline)

That can help us get it done. Prolly fetch me 40$

I get it now, this is how we finally get LeBron.

    Sell him the team.

I would think they've already gauged interest, yes. But I don't think it's normally this big a surprise to people in the inner circle either. So it's not obvious to me either way.

The problem with just throwing out a "for sale" sign is that the org can fall into some serious chaos if you don't locate a buyer pretty quickly. What if, for whatever reason, Les can't soon find a legit buyer at the price he wants? Ugh.

Anyone that isn't a multi-multi billionaire (like ballmer) is out.

A mere billionaire like Jim Crane needed loans and many minority owners to buy the Astros (a fraction of the value)

Someone that isn't even a billionaire has NO shot and is trying to play the part of a big shot.

I think many CF members don't understand the size and scale of how much an NBA franchise costs. The Clippers sold for $2B, I think the Rockets are worth much more than that. Outside the strict scrutiny of NBA ownership, the incoming owner will need not only the purchase price but enough cash reserves for liquidity and for day-to-day operations. Adding more passive investors is probably something the NBA probably won't want to do. I honestly, don't think Jay-Z, Beyonce or a player led coalition has anywhere near enough $ to make that kind of purchase. Jordan, probably was/is the only person to have enough liquidity and clout enough to do so but that initially started from a minority stake many-many years ago. You're going to need someone with 4-5B+ net worth that is willing to either divest some business interests and get the banks to play along. Only a handful of people who can do that.

He just needs 100x the net worth and he's got it!

Smfh only person in America besides his father that would make me no longer be a fan of the team.

But silver isn't dumb enough to let someone like him own a team in a predominantly black league
