Yea he should also contact Alex Guerrero and start taking the undetectable superchemicals that allow Brady to take hit after hit at age 42 without getting injured unlike Glass Paul

Paul is worth 100 million contract (30 +27+23+20 =100). 30 million for 50 games is fair to him.
    Trend
At the starting of each season, it would be like 12-18 record. When Buyout arrives, the team suddenly better and win 48 games a season.

So let me get this straight: Work hard for years to hone your talents, develop your body, and sharpen your mind so that you can be the absolute best basketball player you can possibly be, thereby setting yourself up to be paid accordingly. You're in a position to set your family and your descendants up in the very best situation you could ever hope to put them in, because you worked your ass off to get to this point.

And then tell the billionaire owner, "Feel free to keep some of the money you should be paying me, since your shitty business practices mean you can't field a competitive team."

Got it. Smart financial move, Brady and Duncan.

Kobe didn't take a pay cut.

We have Harden because he wouldn't take a pay cut.

You can also look at things in this way.

Tilman sign contracts with Ariza and Moute last summer, and trade them/4 picks for two good players, then there is no effect on Paul's contract.
I understand there is a chance to pay $66 million luxury tax like Thunder.
    I blame Tilman too.

lmao...fools counting another man’s pockets yet again...

players should get as much money as they can while they can...

All these dudes know damn well they would’ve taken that 160 mil...foh

Morey had 20 mil just chilling with courtside seats with Ryno and later Knight/Chriss

Wait up! Everyone always wants to talk how Brady took less. His wife makes (used to make) $45 million a year. It's easy to take less when your wife makes 300 times what you do

Nobody gonna mention that Brady's wife out-earns him by a good amount? Easy to pass up the money when you're married to someone worth 400mil.

edit: oh, someone just beat me to it

So honorable for a multi-millionaire to take a pay cut and be a slightly less rich multi-millionaire. Instead of buying 2 yachts now he can only buy one. True champion.

That’s the thing though... the NBA isn’t the only source of income for these players. There is potentially a long-term opportunity cost for taking in more money today vs taking a pay cut and winning championships.

Even though he didn’t take any pay cuts while playing the game, MJ made FAR more money retired than he ever did while playing for the NBA. And winning 6 rings most likely had a lot to do with it.

I suspect CP3 must have already written himself and/or the Rockets off at having any chance of winning rings and concluded he might as well make as much as he can via NBA salary. In that case I don’t see how anyone can blame him at all haha.

The thing is, Chris Paul doesn't just play for the Rockets. He plays for the NBA players Union too. He leads that, and the union is all about making as much money as possible from the team you choose to sign an NBA contract with. He would be an awful head of a union if he didn't set the example. He has been playing for the NBA players Union much longer than the Rockets and we knew that ahead of time. We knew that before we acquired him, we knew what he represents, we knew his philosophy. It's not like he hid his beliefs. You have no one to hate but yourself, he didn't try to pull a fast one on anyone.

I'm not sure it would've gone over well if Morey had played hard ball with one of his stars after being 48 minutes from the NBA finals. We knew at the time that it was a rock and a hard place. The rock was chosen.

Can we at least let the team get healthy again before we continue this constant crying?

Paul has played in 5 games back, and has averaged 15 points and 4 assists in 27 minutes with Harden still in beast mode.

    Stay calm.

    Fix 3 things first.
    1. pace - 27th of 30
    2. defense - 27th of 30
    3. 3-pt accuracy 34.5% (beginning to last week)
    Blazers at 37%.

Paul and Gordon can't shoot, can't run fast in transit defense.
It is a big mistake by not trading for low cost Harris and Ja Green.

Do you think the expectation on Paul's leg is too high?

Disagree that pace is something that needs to be "fixed". Having a faster pace isn't necessarily an advantage, and having a slower pace often can be. 3 point accuracy is whatever, yeah it would be nice if we could shoot better, but we still have the 2nd best offense in the league at 34.5% on 3s.

Defense is where we have to improve.
