Pressure on Brady is the key. If we can't get pressure on him, we're toast. With that said, DW maybe able to put some pressure on the NE defense with his impromptu runs and roll-outs. NE's defense is not what it was last year and if Gronk is hurt, we probably will have the best chance to compete with them. How well the coaches prepare the team will be critical.
This could really be exciting or enough to make you want to puke. We have to do more than target Hopkins over and over. They will be on him like white on rice if Bill better doesn't find a way to get some more receivers involved in the game plan. Better yet, how about throwing some balls down the field instead of short little passes. We know Tom spreads the wealth. He hit 9 different targets today, and targeted 10. That is what we need to do more of. Maybe Foreman can cut loose!!! Wouldn't it be great to see Watt, Clowney, and Mercilus manhandle Brady in New England? Now that would be sweet!
Damn near the whole Patriot offense is beat up right now. Brady or not it's tough to keep overcoming those injuries. The loss of Edelman has shown. They had a cakewalk this week vs that horrible Saints D. Cooks & Brady still don't seem to be on the same page. Time for our pass rush to wake up. The Pats O-Line is definitely vulnerable. Saints pass rush was getting pressure on Brady often. KJo out is tough, is JJo good to go? Our success will be dependent on the pass rush regardless. For us to have a real shot BOB is going to have to let DW do a little more. He looked very capable at the end of the Bengals game. Something to build on. You play to win the game but right now the most important thing is seeing Watson progress week to week. I honestly feel like Brady kinda hates seeing us on the schedule. Here's to hitting him a lot of times and to the refs not bailing him out every time he asks for a flag. The latter could be asking too much though.
Belichick thrives on taking away your best weapon. Patriots will double Hopkins with Gilmore and a safety over the top all night while Butler locks down man coverage on the other side. As for Watson, look for Hightower or Harris to spy and remain in contain throughout. Belichick will give Watson the 5 yard scrambles, just not the 49-yard parade into the endzone. This doesn't mean the Patriots defense can't be exploited. The best option would be a solid rushing attack. Patriots are most vulnerable against the run. Just look at what Kareem Hunt did against them in week 1. If Miller and Foreman can have breakout game by moving the ball, chewing the clock, and getting redzone trips then maybe Texans have a chance.
Let's hope Watson survive this game and look forward to the next one, I don't think we can beat Patriots until we get a better offensive coordinator/hc. Didn't beat back up qb for Patriots last season, what are the odds we gonna win against Brady this season.
Pretty spot on post except our o-line and playcalling is trash so it's tough to use KC as an example. Reid does a great job with offensive schemes; it's one of the best in the league. He just happens to have the safe Alex Smith holding him back a lot. Belichick owns rookie QBs so I could also see them selling out against the run and forcing Watson to beat us. Not like we can beat man coverage anyways. Gilmore could definitely get exploited if we had Fuller, but he and Butler can really body up Nuk and force DW4 to throw into tight windows. Pats are really beat up but I don't expect us to take advantage, especially since we have significant injuries of our own as well. Being a realist and not an optimist, there's way too many weaknesses for a Belichick-coached team to exploit regardless of who they have on the field.
