I'd take that for a college team, sure, but the NFL is a different beast. What works in college often doesn't work in the NFL or Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel would be 2 of the best QB's in the NFL and Vince Young would be finishing up a HOF career right now.

Ezekiel Elliott was a much bigger factor in those wins than Cardale. Cardale just had to not screw it up.

I really like the character and personality of DeShaun Watson, BUT I understand he had the slowest delivery speed on passes at the combine. That does not sound like a fit for the NFL. Sort of a defender's dream come true. On the other hand, Savage throws bullets.

He could be our Dakota Prescott. He or Mahomes is what I'm hoping for.

So he's our guy who our stellar O line and amazing run game is going to make look good before losing in the first playoff game like always?

I'm no cowboy fan but Dak is legit. If it was that easy any qb in Dallas could it. Put Brock in Dallas do they win 13 games? Hell no

Behind that line with that running game? Possibly. It's by far the easiest job in the NFL.

So Dak had nothing to do with the 13 wins??

I wouldn't say nothing, but he wasn't bad enough to screw up by far the easiest job in the NFL. He managed to be really safe with the ball and still end up with the 19th most passing yards in the league. He was similar to Alex Smith in output with an easier gig.

Well Jones had zero game tape to study from. Exposed the next year. Not exactly apples to apples.

I would much rather have Alex Smith or Dak than Savage ,or any other QB that we have had in Houston.
I really hope we draft Watson or Mahomes, but knowing the Texans will probably screw this up.
I also think Kap would be a good option, but that will never happen due to his personality.

Might be time to strike the Watt and Hopkins appreciation threads.

I'm confused. How is that an undefeated starter flames out? Was that before or after he won his national championship?

After. Despite being undefeated as a starter, his role diminished to the point where he only threw 5 passes in 2 of the last 3 games before being benched completely.

Well, first of all, Schaub was vastly superior to either, but even eliminating him from the mix, I'm not sure the 2 would look all that different from QB's we've had post-Schaub if they had to deal with some of the same bad situations we've put QB's in.

Dak's trajectory isn't unlike Big Ben or Brady's first year starting. He showed big time ability.
