Sunday @ Noon on FOX. Please remember this is the thread for discussing the game. Other topics need to be posted elsewhere.
We play our first opponent that isn't a legitimate Superbowl contender. We win. Texans 24 Redskins 21 The light at the end of the tunnel gets a little brighter and the bandwagon SLOWLY starts to build.
I have nothing to lose, so Texans win!!! but there's no way i'd lay money down on our hometown guys right now.
The Deadskins dont impress me much. Outside of Portis and a solid defense, they got to the playoffs last year because of 'smoke and mirrors' and attrition. They dont score many points and early on their defense is scuffling, I definitely think we can take them and am interested to see Gado start getting some real action in the backfield. I think he can be a BIG difference maker. We need more consistent offensive flow in our offense, maybe Gado helps to supply that. Texans 21, Redskins 13.
i can't stand the redskins. i'm rooting for the texans big time. but this statement just feels hollow coming from texans fans. a 2-14 team at 0-2 are pointing to a playoff team from last year saying, "eh...they don't impress me much." i'm not picking on you, hatemavs...i just think it's funny.
My wife grew up in the Beltway area, and is a HUGE Redskins fan (she wears her Doug Williams jersey every Sunday). I was born and raised in Houston, and I'm a HUGE Texans fans (having converted from being an Oiler fan since the 'Luv Ya Blue' days). Needless to say, things are tense in our household this week. Texans 17 Redskins 10 ...and I sleep on the couch for a month.
It's all good, dude. Contrary to popular belief I'm not a complete hard ass and I do have a sense of humor. Just cant stand it when people say stupid things and have the gall to try to make the argument fly! Ridiculous. Your take is funny though LOL.
Portis barely played in Game 1 and didn't play at all in Game 2. Anyone know his status for this week? Knowing our luck, he'll be back at 100%...
he's on my fantasy team. he was actually supposed to play last week, but was scratched late. i only know that he's supposed to play this week.
Ok, ok. I see your point. Until the Texans demonstrate something called consistency from one week to the next, we may even have a hard time with La-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns. LOL. Redskins arent even close to the level that our previous 2 opponents were. Incidentally, both the Eagles and the Colts are #1 in their respective conferences. If the Texans work more intensely at playing consistent at all positions and again actually play 60 minutes of hard-nosed football, then we should be able to beat the 'Skins and possibly the Fins the following week. If not, ... bartender make it a double!
