Didn't know we were in the business of counting fake interceptions? That makes no sense.

What precedent? You get a contract because without you, we are awful. Texans can play the we pay the guys we need card.

No precedent is being set here by signing him to what he wants. We actually need him. That may not be the case for a guy like Whitney Mercilus down the road.

You can discount a play where he starred down a receiver and threw an interception in the red zone simply because it didn't count due to a flag thrown that didn't affect the play at all but I think it's still concerning given his struggles throwing the ball.

When it comes to Duane Brown, if you bow to his demands then you send the message that players under contract can merely hurt the team till ransom is paid...it's not a smart way to do business. Also, Duane Brown wouldn't have really helped things all that much yesterday so there's even less reason to bow to football terrorism.

"starred down a receiver"-Every QB does this to some extent.

The Jag defender committed a penalty. It is football. You can't discredit the penalty and then talk about the fumble where he is slapped in the head and the ball kicked out by someones foot(not called). You can be unbearable at times when trying to dress your opinion.

Watson only looked "better" because he has quickness to avoid some sacks/extend plays but he had pretty poor accuracy this game. Can't really blame Savage either, guy is a pocket passer and there's no pocket to pass from.

Either way I think it doesn't really matter who's at QB with this oline. They're going to get one of the two QB's hurt.

Sounds a whole lot like you are making excuses for him like he's your son and I'm not sure why you are doing that. There's no two ways about it, Watson still looks very unprepared to be playing in the NFL and it doesn't help him out to merely ignore the flaws in his game right now as if they aren't there or excuse them by saying "every QB does it".

The fact that he was better able to run for his life led to a little bit more success yesterday but he still can't be counted on to make passes of more than 10 yards and he can't be counted on not to throw interceptions. I mentioned the fumble, but that kind of thing is going to happen when you don't have an O line so it's less of a concern than the fatal flaws in his passing game.

Both QB's looked bad. Watson looked inexperienced and raw. Savage looked like TJ Yates/Tom Savage. At this point you can either roll with Watson and see if he can be Russell Wilson 2.0 (doubtful) or you can roll with Savage and expect to start Watson after his inevitable injury in Week 3 or 4. Hopefully they've paid Duane by then.

Trying not to overreact but man, there was almost nothing good to take away from that game.

Nevermind. Pay Duane, start Watson now that you've played that hand, adapt to Watson's limited skillset and go from there. This is the only thing to do at this point.

    Did the new helmets work?

Cushing said his concussion was "pretty bad".

    Watson hurt his right ankle.

Could still be that Savage and the O-line are serviceable against lesser defenses. Didn't they hold up during preseason? Of course vanilla defenses and all.

Watson still needs time to get ready. 4-5 games. We're not winning anything this season. Foolish of Bill not to give him time to work with the ones in preseason. Stubborn fool. He wants his players to be versatile but he himself is not.

We'll see vs. Bengals. Glaring though that we don't have that swagger or toughness. No leader on the field. Everyone folded. Might be Bill is losing the locker room.

I know Cushing was one of the 5 Texans who decided to wear the new helmets. The others opted for the regular one.

The 5 used them for preseason. I think they would use them for regular games.
