Last year Altuve was the only guy to hit over .300 (.338) at this point in the season... Altuve .335 Correa .320 Marwin .316 Reddick .312 Springer .301 Yuli .300 STACKED
Devo coming to the plate with no batting gloves and that smile on this face is the highlight of the game for me. Had a couple of solid hacks there, too.
Stupid Hinch... should have kept Marisnick in the game since we own the 7th and obviously would bat around. Also, it would have been hilarious if Hinch pinch hit Devo with Correa after they intentionally walked Bregman.
Hinch would make a terrible NL manager. First he double-switches instead of letting Musgrove finish the inning. As result Devo comes up to bat with the bases juiced instead of having Marisnick in that spot (Nori would have PH for Musgrove regardless). Then instead of PH for Devo with Beltran he let's Devo hit and give up a bases loaded opportunity. Freaking terrible managing.
Honestly, I'm OK with it. Aoki leading off the inning gave the Astros a leadoff double to kickstart the inning. And I'm totally fine sacrificing a bases loaded situation with two outs with Devo at the plate if it means he's coming back up to pitch the bottom of the 7th.
Are you serious? Did you forget that Aoki started the inning with a double? Every manager in the entire NL would accept that exact same situation where the pitcher that entered on the double switch bats in the next inning.
