Rock is dead, or haven't you heard? Rap is where it is at with the young folks these days.

Ooh that hurt. Maybe he can't keep up anymore? He has the benefit of unlimited takes in the studio. Who knows how long it's taking him to lay down a track. I've always enjoyed his style and sound though.

Definitely good enough to were I'd want to hear what else is on the album.

I want some old school Kirk solo's tho and not whatever the **** that **** was supposed to be.

Hmm, pretty good for a Metallica song.

    Haymitch approved.

The Hardwired track would not be out of place on Kill 'Em All which is really promising for the upcoming album. I still miss the old school dual guitar harmonizing melodies though, wish James and Kirk would do more of that.

I'm calling it right now - GnR/Metallica/FNM 25 year anniversary tour is going to happen in 2017. Write that down.

As for the song, didn't really care for it. Sounds way too forced and the result of fan pressure to 'go back to your roots'. The gratuitous profanity seems like a pathetic attempt to sound 'hard'. I'd rather bands make the music they want to make, even if I don't like it.

I ended up watching a Periscope feed for the Minneapolis show last night.

They played the new song in the encore but I couldn't make much sense of the audio...sounded garbled.

Otherwise, they just played their usual hits. It felt like the 80s...which is ok if one wants to turn back the clock 30 years. But, essentially ignoring everything since the Black album is like ignoring the last 20 years of the band or whatever. It all just feels a bit dated. Hence, no desire to see them live really. I've seen it all before and it hasn't changed much if any other than they have gotten older.

I thought the 'new' song sounded familiar:

I'll always be grateful to Metallica because knowing how to play Nothing Else Matters in the Middle East in the 90's as a 15-16 year old got me more pu$$y than I ever expected.

Well I'm always glad when bands put out new music.

Still I can't help but think about this.
