No Villanueva and Roger Deakins....but still the same screen writer, Sheridan. The trailer looks awesome. Appears to have the same tone. Don't sleep on the new director, Stefano Sollima. His crime drama TV show Gomorrah is pretty well received.
Anything after Villaneuve and Deakins is going to be a step down. But if they follow Sheridan's script they have a chance.
So Benicio del Toro's character is going to draw a line in this one? He sure didn't the first movie. Guess he evolved.
Remeber the scene with Emily Blunt at the end where he would have killed her if she didn't sign the waiver (or whatever it was)? There was no soft spot.
So, Sheridan went the, Liam Neeson "Taken" route with Benicios character? Color me not amused. 1 vs 100 highly trained CIA agents with choppers and state of the art tech. I wonder whos gonna come out on top of this one?
I stopped watching the trailer as soon as they told him to ditch the girl. Trailers are condensed movies now. That's why i don't watch Marvel ones.
Roger Deakins isn't "a cinematographer." He's THE cinematographer. Think of a movie made in the last 30 years or so where, as you watched it, you couldn't get over how good it looked... and you're trying to put your finger on why the visuals are so crisp and interesting (not to mention beautiful). Every time you pause the movie it looks like a postcard or something that should be framed... If that ever happened to you, you probably were watching something shot by Deakins. Here's a short list: Sicario (obviously) Blade Runner 2049 Skyfall Fargo No Country for Old Men The Shawshank Redemption True Grit The Big Lebowski The Assassination of Jesse James... Oh Brother Where Art Thou? Prisoners I'm sure I'm leaving some out... dude's amazing.
This movie looks excellent to me. Looking forward to it. But yes, don't watch this "new" trailer if you don't want some plot to be exposed. The first trailer from December is very good and really is sufficient. Excited to so it.
