Miami's 5 games against the Spurs had a 13.6 margin of defeat. Biggest margin of deficit ever in NBA Finals history.

By comparison, in every round of every playoffs that MJ ever played, MJ never lost a series by that Margin. And further, MJ only got beat by that 5-game Spurs AVERAGE seven times in all of his playoff games.

In 179 Playoff Games, MJ only loses 7 times vs the 5 game Average of the Spurs/Heat 2014 Finals.

    Game 4 Finals 1996 Seattle 107-86
    Game 7 ECF 1990 Pistons win 93-74
    Game 2 EC Semi's 1989 Knicks win 114-97
    Game 3 ECF 1988 Piston 101-79
    Game 4 ECF 1988 Piston 96-77
Game 1 and 3 to '86 Celtics by 19 each time. Game Two he scores 63pts NBA Playoff Record still

Of course Jordan is better than LeBron, but using reasons like this is ridiculous.

You were referring to a player (MJ) as against a team (Heat)?

No, I'm referring to MJ versus an NBA Record margin of defeat.

    MJ vs Historical Records

    MJ wins again

    .,..see how simple that is

Yup. MJ is my favorite player of all time.

    Can't argue with you there.

Just stop, we all know what you're implying.

MJ is better than Lebron, few will argue the other way.

That said name a time MJ had a worse group than Lebron had this year in a finals. Hell in any series. The Heat were starting a broken down Rashard Lewis (and he was arguably their 2nd best player in 2 finals games).

Lebron just like anyone else needs help, but he is a great player it's stupid to argue otherwise.

No need to compare him to MJ, there will never be a player as important to the NBA as MJ and even if somehow there comes a time there is a player better than MJ, few people who have watched 90s basketball will ever be ready to admit it.

Well, if you insist on bringing up Lebron, he has lost 13 games by worse than this Historical Record margin of defeat in 158 games. MJ only 7 times in 179 games

The point is MJs level of fockass and to demand that same level all season long from his teammates such that they pretty much never got blown out in playoff games.

The history of 179 playoff games and all MJs series he certainly had worse teams -- and against historically GREAT Eastern Conference teams. Three of his loses worse that 13.6 pts were against the champion that year. A fourth was a year he won the title. If you look at all those '80s teams then

Four of his 14+ margin of defeat playoff games were with these teams.

consider '86 vs the Celtics with four HOFs (Bird, Parish, Mchale, Walton and DJ)

    Orlando Woolridge
    Dave Corzine
    Oakley
    Kyle Macy

Consider '88 vs the Pistons with three HOFs (Thomas, Dumars, Rodman) plus Dantley, Laimbeer, Vinnie "Microwave" Johnson, Mahorn, Saley and Edwards:

    Orlando Woolridge
    Dave Corzine
    Pippen (a rookie)
    Sam Vincent

When the Pistons acquire Aguirre and won 2 chips, Jordan (in 13 playoff games against a stacked Pistons team) never lost to them by 14+ pts with this team, until Game 7 elimination on the way to Pistons destroying the Lakers in 4.

    Cartwright
    Horace Grant (a rookie)
    Pippen (2nd yr)
    Craig Hodges

with Brad Sellers and Paxson on the bench...vs Isiah HOF, Dumars HOF, Rodman HOF (to be), Aguirre, Laimbeer, Vinnie Johnson, Mahorn, Sally and Edwards

Get over it. Lebron is Top 6 player arguably in history. Michael was the GOAT.

It doesn't make sense. You either compare Jordan to Lebron or the Bulls to the Heat.

Clearly you have a point to make, just go ahead and do it. I don't think anyone has a problem with it as opposed to this passive aggressive thing.

If Pippen had played in a Finals with bum knees and basically quit on defense, Jordan would have lost in a similar fashion.

Luckily for Jordan, who would "never" have teamed up with anyone, always hit every important shot, etc. he never had to deal with a washed up star next to him playing Hardenesque defense all game every game in a 7 game series.

Jordan had a top 50 all time player at his side, in his prime for every title run and always had a strong defensive presence at the 4 and often the 5. That's why he never dealt with blowouts. The Spurs ripped up Miami in large part because Wade didn't even try on defense.

All that said, Lebron is not Jordan. They don't play the same position and they don't play the game the same way.

Don't forget the Spurs broke several offensive records in this series. They were simply on an offensive roll starting from game 7 of the Mavs series.

Lebron dominating even more wouldn't have changed the outcome of this series. You needed a team effort to even have a chance. With 3 of their 5 starters (Wade, Bosh, Chalmers) pretty rendered useless on both ends all series + no bench, pretty much nothing you can do.

With that said, MJ is the standard. Nothing wrong if you can't meet MJ's standards. The guy is the greatest of all time. Lebron is still on the path to be the 2nd best of all time.

Really? You're not going to own up to the point you're trying to make? Okay, this thread has nothing to do with LeBron :p:rolleyes:
