This dude used to grate on my nerves. But after months of watching this "Sideshow Bob", it's damn near embarrassing that he is simply pandering to the public/media with this crap. Hope he is enjoying his 15 minutes... I don't think he can keep this up... But in this age of Trumpism, I have been shocked before.
I like Lavar and the message he sends. At the the end of the day FATHERS need to step up and take care of their kids and be physically involved
If they're involved for the sake of their children then its great, Lavar may come across as someone who prioritizes his own interests over the well being of his kids. He did his job of raising Lonzo and helping him get to the NBA, hopefully he lets him and his coaches go to work and not be a distraction when games start to matter. When Ayesha started saying the league was fixed during the finals, Steph told her we don't need that attention. Lebron told his family the same thing early on in his career about remaining out of the media's grasp. I have a feeling Lavar won't care about what is best for Lonzo, he will just be focused on being a wanna be entertainer like Joe Jackson was to Michael. Hopefully I'm wrong.
No doubt he wants nothing but success for his kids, but for all the wrong reasons. It really looks like he wants them to be successful for his own notoriety and success. He's using his kids to serve his own self interest and that isn't really "care" so much as exploitation. People talk about how exploitive colleges and apparel companies are to young athletes and yet Lavar is essentially trying to become that for his athlete kids. You can say he is pro family, but he has already cost his family a lot of money because he only wants the pyramid to grow if LAVAR is the one at the top of it. Certainly, he's better for his kids than if he wasn't present, but that's setting a pretty low bar for parenting if him just "being around" makes him some kind of hero.
Wow it looks like you really know the family dynamics inside and out. My two cents...sure he might be doing it to make money himself. BUT who knows if his family all sat down and said yes lets do it this way. Who knows? Regardless I think you are wrong about him costing his family money. He's brought the whole family attention that they likely would not have gotten otherwise, he's set them up for potential huge deals by being so popular..just by being in the news. Hell being a very average sports fan I know about all his damn kids. He's set the family up well.
I don't see that at all. And If you take a long look at Lonzo, he seems like one of the most respectful, well-raised young men to come out of college in a long, long time. Lavar must be doing something right.
I agree with most of your posts, but you think it's a good thing to teach kids to walk off the court when calls don't go their way, and tell women to 'stay in yo lane'?
