The athletic Wafer did much of his work against Bryant.

"He told me he was proud of me," Wafer said. "I've got a lot of respect for Kobe. He told me he was proud of me, that I've come a long way and just keep it going."

Wafer recalled the days he spent with the Lakers, the long practices, the sessions in which Bryant was relentless against him. Wafer didn't back down. For him, it was learning the game from the best player in the world.

"I learned a lot from Kobe that I've put in my game today," Wafer said. "There's a lot more that I want to learn from him. Hopefully I can work out with him this summer.

Wafer should take Artest along with him to those summer practices.

A year or so ago, I would have given you 10 different reasons why this was true.

The only exception I would have put was that Kobe had a killer instinct that is born in great champions.

Now, there are more exceptions between them then there are reasons why your statement might be true. :(

Hopefully, he can return to 60% of what he did in last year's playoffs and help us get at least past the first round.

I still have faith, but I don't know how long my optimism will last . . .

McShady wouldn't help Wafer cause he would end up taking his job. lol
...And he isn't no clone of Kobes, just a wanna-be.

Watch out Wafer, Kobe was proud of a call girl once right before he raped her.

Great guy, Morey should lock him as soon as possible, now dont compare tmac with Kobe, tmac is just a clown. Instead, Wafer is much promising and athletic than tmac, he andLandry give passion to the Rockets, which we are needed badly. Hope next season we can still have this guy in the ratation.

Glad to read this, shows Von has the desire. Morey needs to lock Von up before he becomes a FA, I know Morey must be thinking I'm not signing a guy thats had a few good games but it'll be a mistake if he doesn't lock the kid up for a multi-year deal.

At 23, Wafer has the potential to be something really nice with the Rockets. Doubtful that it would be anywhere near Kobe's level, but with his heart and the effort he puts out on the court this team will have a pretty good looking future if they can lock him up with AB and Carl.

It is horrible, that a kid with a talented Tracy on his team, would rather go workout with another teams player over the summer.

    Tracy has fallen way off.......

Hopefully he will teach Wafer how to get those calls for a defender merely breathing on him or not even touching him. Don't teach him how to be a whiner and cry after every play though.
