Think of the horrible things they'll do now. If they'll tell his boss they don't like his whining then there is no telling what length's they'll go to. Van Gundy's silence will be had!

This is exactly what keeps conspiracy theories alive, dumb **** like this! The league is definitely trying to hide something, they are not open and transparent at all. They can talk all they want, apologize all they want, I'm sure THE MAN behind the scenes knows referees are rigging games or calling it a certain way to extend series and such. They just won't do anything about it, cause they figure they bury their head in the sand and as long as people do not really talk it, it's okay.

Guess what NBA, it's not okay and stop asking people in a supposedly free country to keep their mouth shut. It makes it seem the NBA is a dictatorship and you are doing things behind closed doors that nobody is supposed to know anything about. Thank you JVG for once again sticking up for your beliefs, voicing your opinion and sticking your neck out there. I wish I could stop watching, but I'm honestly addicted to being a Rockets fan. I know the Portland series is not called fairly, I know Yao was treated differently, I know the 04-05 series was rigged yet I keep watching. Why?? I don't know, I guess I hope one day we will win despite of all this.

JVG is everyone's favorite cause he speaks out what everyone is thinking silently.

    KEEP IT REAL, JVG!

sounds like jvg will never coach in this league again. perhaps his brother as well. no team owner probably wants to take the chance of potentially being on the receiving end of league bias due to their coach.

Yeah, considering how biased most believe the officials are, it's hard to want a Van Gundy leading your team when the NBA and the officials seem to have a problem with them.

People don't like him whining about officiating? Is that why he's the most liked analyst (to me anyway) on all the major networks?

have you guys noticed every time the refs make a call the commentators need to try to justify it? they are scared to lose their jobs if they don't back up the calls.

I love listening to JVG broadcast. He's one of the few that I find super annoying. I also love the raptors commentators.

I remember when JVG brought up the "Yao officiated differently" thing before the playoffs. CFans was pretty much on meltdown mode for a bit cuz honestly he sounded like every one of us who saw Yao get killed every single game without the refs doing anything. Eff them, and thanks Jeff for taking the hit

I love JVG. One of my favorite Rockets coaches ever, and I have long said I would love to see him coaching Houston again (and if not that replacing Drexler as a part time commentator on the broadcasts) --

question though. Do you think his open stance criticizing the officials and the league as a commentator would make him a liability as a coach? Would referees target him and the team he was coaching?

As much as I like him, that possibility would give me pause before hiring as a coach if I was a GM.

I love JVG and Breen. Breen is always on point when commentating, and JVG just speaks his mind.

    I also like Chris Webber.

If some day ESPN gets rid of JVG because of the league's pressure, the fans should come out at full force to boycott it.

Dictator Stern completely controlled the media through intimidation. What other commissioner could walk away from the Tim Donaghy situation without a mark on him like Stern did? That guy was scary powerful.
