The parallels are there when comes to media coverage and Harden ridicule. That recent straw poll showed us the "shadow votes" might be a thing. Houston is a "fly-over" state when it comes to professional sports; media laughs at us a lot.

    Parallels on top of Parallels!

This is like the 1998 home run chase, must see tv because of the record chase but sosa won mvp despite finishing behind mcgwire's 70. Mcgwire also received most of the attention during season. So why did sosa win despite not passing Maris first or finishing with most HRs? Mostly because his team was in contention and mcgwire's was not. Winning counts.

without a doubt james will win players' vote for mvp again, which will just be another bullet in mainstream media's crumbling ratings, proving they report nothing of value and only serve as a unified mouthpiece for the corporate agenda. let them die slowly with their modern-day pravda campaigns. the truth don't give a F anyways.

He did as of last year. So I would assume he still has that vote.

Triple-double - MVP - give it to him!
Comebacks over the lottery-bound Mavs & Magic - MVP - give it to him!

Harden is gonna lose MVP not because Westbrook is better, but Harden is too passive for his own good.

I sometimes wish Harden take 30 or 40+ shots like Wesbrook does, but it's just not in his DNA, so his numbers will always look relatively weak compared to WB. Harden - whose TS% hovers around 62% mark - often defers to Ariza or Beverley on quite a few offensive possessions, which doesn't make whole lot of sense unless they are completely open, yet he does this time and time again, thereby just wasting our precious scoring opportunities. If Westbrook with his mediocre TS% is praised for scoring a lot of points and barely beating out lottery teams, Harden is more than justified to take more shots.

Harden can score 35+ points every single night if he chooses to and still lead his team to victory, but he's not doing it for some reason.

What I like about Harden is that he doesn't want to take 30 or 40+ shots like Westbrook does. Westbrook's style of play will never lead to a ring, and I don't think that it's that appealing to other stars around the league. If Westbrook's teammates are happy with being spectators every night while he just jacks up shots then that's on them. If it were up to me, I'd much rather play with Harden.

Let's hope. Westbrook winning would mean that the media valued personal glory over team success. This is the same media that sh*ts on players like Melo and 15-16 Harden because they put up numbers while their team isn't winning.

Harden's style of play is more conducive to winning a championship because it empowers his teammates, and allows us to have strength in numbers.

I like that Harden cares about his teammates and tries to get them involved, but Harden is by far the most efficient scorer on this team, so when he defers to players like Ariza or Beverley (which happens more than it should), it's basically akin to wasting our possessions, so I'm not sure if it's even helping this team. Ariza or Beverley should never take more than 8 shots a game, unless they are on a roll, and those few shots taken away from them should go to Harden IMO.

He's said on Undisputed that he has a vote this year. His dumbass will at least have Harden in 2nd. Let's hope that the voters who value winning will have Harden in 1st or 2nd while putting Westbrook 3rd or 4th.
