You know in Star Wars, how Darth Vader's Death Star is a fortress that cannot be broken except for one little spot tucked away in an obscure corner of the ship, but man if you get to that spot, the Death Star is gone? I have a feeling J.R. Smith is that spot, and a team's defensive capability is the Death Star. It might not make any sense, but I'm feeling the analogy right now.
based on what ? are you saying the nuggets are a good defensive team sans JR smith ? his defense is fine, especially if he played for us. we work as a unit on defense. everyone digs in and tries hard and im sure if JR was here we would do the same.
That's what I always thought. When he's on he reminds me of Kobe at least on the offensive end. His dunks are most similar to Kobe's style as well. If only he'd play defense and wasn't such a worthless Sac.
That might be true, and of course I'm not saying they'd magically be good at defense without him. I wasn't claiming the analogy to cover all parts. But have you watched him on defense? He might work well systemically, but he has to be one of the laziest defensive players I've ever watched. So yes, he might work in our defense because it's our systemic defense, but then you can make that argument for ANY player. If it's true, great. If he's still lazy as hell, ugh.
