Gracchus: Then perhaps Caesar will be so good as to teach us, out of his own extensive experience?

They think they’re some sort of profit or that they’re “real” for pointing little flaws that we all see but choose to over look.

Like I’m happy if Ariza is making his open 3’s and defending well. If he has some out of control blown lay up in transition (which he always has), I’m not going to make a thread about “Ariza’s out of control drives are going to affect us in the playoffs”...

    1. Rockets trusted Harden as the main ball-handler/play-maker last year. How many wins did they get?

    2. Clippers trusted CP3 as the main ball-handler/play-maker last year. How many wins did they get?

I think it's only fair we get you on the ESPN Countdown show next to Beadle. I'd love for you to absolutely destroy her time there and question her every anti-harden and anti-rockets talk.

Clippers were 43-18 last year with Chris Paul. Floor time W/L was 48-10.

Rockets were 54-27 last year with Harden. Floor time W/L was 55-24.

so Harden as the primary ball-handler/playmaker can be trusted to single handedly carry a mediocre cast to most wins possible

same definitely can't be said with CP3 (who has Blake & DJ) not even Lebron (who has Kyrie & Love)

Harden can be trusted to play at a superstar level for more games than Chris Paul. He is more durable.

I wouldn't draw any conclusion from that regarding playmaking capability.

    is playmaking simply assists?

or total points you produce (you score yourself plus points thru your assists)?

Neither. Looking at assists or "total points produced" to rate a player's abilities as a playmaker is flawed in the same way as using Points scored to rate a player's scoring ability.

At the very least, need to account for efficiency.

    Winning%.

And you can't ascertain how a player contributes to winning% without accounting for efficiency. So your question is kind of dumb.

Yeah because Harden had DJ and Griffin and the likes of Redik right?

actually you can. a team can win by 30pts despite the main playmaker having 7 turnovers or missing 7 threes. winning has everything to do with scoring more points than opponents.

was Morey dumb for extending Harden to a max extension and totally ignoring his efficiency?

was CP3, Tucker, and LMM dumb for bandwagonning with harden and totally ignoring his efficiency?

is it smart to ignore harden's playmaking ability as if he's a chucker like Kobe or ballhog like westbrook?

is there anyone who could possibly been more efficient than harden and single handedly carry the rockets to more than 55 wins last season?

Good point. DJ and Griffin sure are racking up the wins this year.

Harden was able to do that because he is a great scorer as well as a great playmaker. That doesn't mean he's a better point guard than CP3, and if you think he is you clearly don't know a lot about basketball. When I say Harden is a better overall player, it's because Harden can explode for 50 points and in that same game dish out 10+ assists. CP3 can't do that, but he's also a smarter floor general than Harden is, and that is no slight to Harden because I regard CP3 as one of the best ever at his position.

Where do you think discrepancy in turnovers between them come from? It's because CP3 is better at reading the defense, and doesn't force the ball through heavy traffic that Harden is prone to do sometimes. Harden is very similar to how LeBron was when he was much younger in terms of his playmaking style and ability, but don't get it twisted, CP3 is probably top 5 PG to ever play the game.
