This is the better way to go. Let Howard play back-to-backs; at least there'd be continuity. These constantly-shuffled lineups are not helping at all. It'd be similar to games where he has some foul trouble: limited minutes. And if we lose Howard for any period of time, similar to last year, it'll suck, yes, but at least you know he won't be there and you won't keep having to change the style of play from game to game.
They said they initially wanted to limit DH's minutes to 20-25 mpg in these back-to-backs. It is going to be interesting to see how tight JBB sticks to that if the games are close.
I hope they know what they are doing. On the other hand things are very dangerous right now with our position in the standings.. Everyone who said Dwight is not playing because of his next years' free agency and he puts himself above the good of the team should shut up once and for all.
Less than 10 would be improvement to 5 that he gets now. Also this rushed decision means bye bye Howard. Last season for him in Houston. Rockets don't care about his health, so he won't care about the Rockets when he leaves.
How exactly does this mean it's for the end of Howard in Houston? Could it be that maybe he's trying to salvage this season as much the rest of the team is? And he knows in order to accomplish that more consistency is needed in the lineup. Harden's game is very dependant on Howard being effective in the low post and it's time he recognizes that.
