The basis for this thread is that America is not an Aristocracy with people becoming president due to their family. Whether it is the Bushes or the Clinton it is against the fabric of our nation.

The truth is that Hillary Clinton was not elected by the people, Bill Clinton was and went on to become a very popular president.

The only reason we have ever heard of Hillary Clinton is her Husband.

Can that be said about Nancy Pelosi, Sonia Sontemayor, Janet Yellen, Carly Fiorina, Condi Rice, Elizabeth Warren??? No. These are women that created their own success due to their individual achievements on both sides of the political spectrum.

This is not a discussion about her politics but the reason for her fame and it is not her actions, but those of her Husband that make her famous which is not a qualification to be President of the United States.

Hillary is still accomplished all on her own. She didn't get her JD from Yale just because she married Bill.

It is actually worse than that because her ACTIONS from what I can tell prove that she is definitely NOT qualified to be POTUS. They certainly prove she wasn't qualified to be SOS.

So a degree from a school is a qualifier to be President??!

    That's pretty silly.

There are no qualifications except those outlined by the Constitution.

It certainly is a litmus test.

I am sure this thread or some variation of it came up about Barack
He does not deserve to be THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT . . . . .

Deserve has nothing to do with it
    Qualification mean nothing.
By an large . . .the only qualification is convincing a bunch of rich folx to give you an ass load of money.
then convince the rest of 'vote' for you . . . .

Very true, Hillary being undeserving has literally nothing to do with it, she's more deserving of being president than Donald Trump and so that's why she'll be the next president even if she should be prosecuted for crimes she committed as Secretary of State. She's the best turd that we have to vote for.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Barack Obama created his own name.
The only reason we know Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush or George W. Bush is because of their family.

That to me is the antithesis of what this country is about. We are not an Argentinian or Indian style family hierarchy government.

We elected Bill Clinton to be president and we only know Hillary because she was married to him! So she is in per position because of who she married, not who she is.

That combined with Bill Clinton's behavior towards women and that Hillary blamed the victims (can't say a 20 year old Monica Lewinsky who was a 20 year old college intern and her boss the President of the US was not a predator) including a 20 year old intern!!

Not really the role model for feminism imo

Sort of like how we only know of Donald Trump because he inherited a successful business and millions of dollars from his dad.....

The whole premise of this thread is sexist. Not worthy to be the first woman president???

Why is the word woman even there. She is either worthy to be president or not, has nothing to do with being a woman president. Sounds like the one playing the woman card is the OP

Cruz, the first term dip**** who shut down the government over a fight his party couldn't win so that he could make himself look better at the expense of everyone else in government.

Nah, it's Trump, the man who's net worth is overinflated by himself, propped up as a measure of his manhood and success, and has been promoting populist rhetoric that is ruining our world standing to the point where Muslims worldwide will begin to think of Bush as the "good ol' days"

She may very well be the next POTUS because people hate her a little less than they hate Trump. A hate filled General Election!!! I guess that's what we deserve.

What amazing, inspiring, honorable, and worthy candidate LOL!!!

    go on,

    here we go...

If that was the goal then wouldn't Hilary be running against Carly Fiorina? Why did 1 woman win a nomination and the other didn't if our priority is to elect a woman president and not elect the best candidate for the position?

It's difficult to not get distracted here that a Trump supporter is promoting gender equality especially when %46 of republican women don't like him for comments he has made about women.

So you're saying a successful woman that is admired and respected by many around the world owes it all to a man.

Yes, and no one would know her Husband if not for her. She had years of experience in law and served on political committees in Arkansa and used that to help in the presidential campaign.

So all of this is about your concern for her well being? Blaming an abused woman of being abused?

This was a comment she made to a personal friend. I'm going to go out on a limb and say there are worse things women that have called the mistresses of their husbands in the company of their friends.

22 years old but whatever. So you are saying that as a man, you think she was in the wrong for not divorcing her husband for the mistakes he made.

Wait, what? So you don't care that Bill got blowies from a 22 year old but you do care that his wife stayed with him because of it.

You're not. This post is really disgusting. I honestly can't say that I've seen anything in this election cycle on CF that is more offensive. You think that your expertise as a man qualifies you to make judgements on if Hillary deserves to carry that mantle of the first woman president? The entire mental dichotomy that has enslaved and oppressed woman for all human history was based on the idea that men could make decisions for women and understood what was in their best interest more than they could. What makes this almost comical is that you even have "man" in your handle.

Well let's see... the second President of the United States had a son that went on to be President. Arguably two of the greatest Presidents were related and shared the same last name (Roosevelt). Robert Kennedy was likely to be President, following in his brothers footsteps, if he hadn't been killed... that doesn't even include the very well respected Ted Kennedy.

So, looks to me like it is very much in the fabric of America. Also you seem to forget that Clinton has been in public office for decades.

On the other hand, you have to give us Democrats credit... at least we aren't nominating the more (most?) hated/hateful candidate. As you observed, we're nominating the better candidate.

Its good to be the one-eyed king of Blind Man's Island...
