    Rockets summary

    Miller time

With a third center out with an injury, the Rockets are expected to sign Anthony "Pig" Miller and add him to the roster today.

Miller also joined the Rockets on a road trip last season and played in 35 games, averaging 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds. The Rockets did not sign him after the season, and he was released by the Atlanta Hawks when Dikembe Mutombo returned to the lineup.

The Rockets' frontcourt injury problems continued when Carlos Rogers was ruled out with a sprained left knee. Rogers underwent an MRI, but no tear was found in the knee.

The Rockets are already without centers Kelvin Cato and Kenny Thomas. Center Hakeem Olajuwon and Thomas returned to practice on Thursday but were still feeling the effects of the flu.

    No vacation

The Rockets' first four-game road trip has begun to look like one of the season's toughest.

"We're playing one of the best teams in the league in Sacramento," coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "We got off to such a horrible start against them at home, it really wasn't competitive."

The Rockets also will face Golden State and Antawn Jamison, who has recently posted two 51-point games.

Oh gosh... When I think of last year's struggles in the early season, I think of Pig Miller picking up some serious PT... Say it ain't so...

Gotta admit I really enjoyed Pig's time here and I'm glad to have him back.He is just the opposite of what you'd think an NBA player would look like but always seems to make a contribution.Welcome back Pig Miller.

no need for high priced power forwards who want the max but cant even get rebounds, pig is cheap, pig hustles, pig knows his role, pig gets the job done. and its fun sayin moochie and pig in the same sentence again.

I may be the only one out there but I would rather have Pig than Cato. Cato is unfulfilled potential while Pig gives 100% everytime out.
I could even make the same argument for Mo and Pig, but Mo at least plays hard on the offensive side of the ball when he wants to.

    Welcome back Pig!

C'mon guys, what choice do we have at this point? Dream is our only functional center, and he ain't gonna go 48 minutes.

Pig has served us well in the past. He's agressive, if nothing else. It's not like we have anything to lose.

Thomas H is effectively barred from this organization. Pig Miller, however, provides us with a valuable rebounding/fouling (and sometimes scoring) option. At a low cost, I might add...

With Carlos AND Kenny AND Kelvin out (and Mo ineffective), he's a pretty cost-effective option. And it's Les's money anyway... Who cares what it costs? We need a banger, quick. Pig fills that role.

Fan Club? More like a mechanics club. Just call in the guy who can fix the immediate problem - who cares what he calls himself?

Did anybody really believe the Rocks could make a full season without having Pig on the roster? I suspect that Pig will have a phantom roster spot with the Rockets for years to come. We could do worse; we could have that rookie center playing for the Bucks [IMG]

At least now with Pig, Air Bullard won't have to play center!!!

Assuming Pig gets some decent minutes, how many games will it take for him to pass Mo's high rebound game of 8?
