on the ESPN broadcast just heard them say Harden said he was currently 225 and wants to get ready for a championship run and have more energy deeper in games and in the playoffs. Told the announcer he wants to get back to his "OKC weight"

All those years why couldn't he get down to 'OKC weight'?

To a world class athlete 5 pounds lost/gained the right way can make a difference and to lose/gain it the right way takes awhile. I know a couple world class marathon runners and they can see 2-3 pounds make a huge difference.

It's because well trained athletes aren't carrying around 30+ pounds of excessive water weight or serious amounts of EASY fat. If they lose weight its going to be lean muscle mass. It takes a ton of work to convert that remaining hard fat over to more lean muscle. I presume this is why he is always working out after games to keep building and smooth out his down cycles. CP3 talks about still being amped up after games. It's like alcohol poisoning, once you start that motor you have to taper it off.
