The reviews I read prior to episode 1 were all very negative. Of all the roles I've seen him play, this show is the most extreme example of Hardy being really good while the movie/show itself doesn't measure up to his effort. The weirdness kind of keeps it going but some clarity is due.
Lmao right, I can recall at least 3 other roles where he did the same thing with few words eye rolls and grunts
I couldn't wait until Tuesday to watch the finale. It did not disappoint. Tom Hardy supposedly lost over $2 million on this series. Not holding my breath, but I'll watch season 2 if they make it.
Haha, yeah I am considering watching it early.. I think in UK its BBC1. Great to hear that it was good
I think it's pretty on point with what I thought it was before the premiere, it may have taken longer to unfold but the storytelling is still always in motion
Me too. The premiere was slow and secretive so I hunkered down for a slow, interwoven yarn of grimy deception and clever twists. It's been a little too slow in parts but I can't say I've been disappointed at all. I kind of like the protagonist-centric storytelling device they used. Much of the plot seems to be dependent on what's in Delaney's head and it's refreshing to see something based during my favorite time in history. Hope the ending blows me away.
Hmm. Seems like IMDB was calling it a mini-series before, but now it just says 'TV series'. I could be thinking of something else though.
