We're SO far away from knowing what Lin has in terms of potential that it just does him a disservice to compare him to top PG's. COULD he bet that? Maybe. Maybe not. If he is, we won't see it for YEARS. Best to focus on This year...
Similiar attributes....good rebounder, can make plays, has the potential to score (not at the current state though), and probably better at steals. However, I'd like to see a full season, without too much chains, and see how he progresses/regresses.
I can see Morey freeing JLin by trading him. It would be a win/win. Maybe for a guy like Jennings and Bucks PF.
I think he's so on top of rebounding because it makes the transition go much much faster because then he can just tear right back into the offense.
He AIRBALLED a wide open jumper. What does he deserve? Is he entitled to more open shots as he already has? If he didn't shoot 35%, which is worse than Rafer Alston's career average, then maybe he would do better. Coaches don't discriminate, esp. for a guy with a feel-good story like Lin was last year. Dude can't shoot worth a damn, it's that simple. Yes, just like Parsons has Kobe's potential.
Yes, for the role of a spot-up shooting PG ala Derek Fisher, Lin is sucking playing that position. Cut Lin and get Derek Fisher or trade for Steve Blake.
Yup Lin deserves to be in a better team. This team is clearly playing like a headless chicken. Too many iso plays, hero ball and to top it off no support for Lin
Yep, FIRE EVERYBODY! Asik gets blocked and miss shots, can't catch. Harden turns the ballover every time he touches the ball. OMG, he can't finish or even get a shot off during the last play. Eyetest is true measure of basketball.
He's averaging 6+ assists. They're giving him enough playmaking duties. But unless you're Rondo who can penetrate at will despite not knowing how to shoot the ball, you need to shoot at a decent clip. Lin can't throw a rock into an ocean right now. Teams guard for his drive b/c they clearly don't respect his shooting. He doesn't have elite speed/quickness off the bounce, which makes it hard. As a coach, why would you want to give him the ball more? There's a reason we're playing Harden ball. B/c outside of Harden, no one else can create off the dribble worth a damn.
