Some fool started talking about a gas shortage, so all the sheep in Dallas and Austin went and topped off all their tanks and now most gas stations are out of gas. What a cluster. People are so freaking selfish and stupid. We were supposed to go up to Dallas for a soccer tournament and we don't know if we can even get the gas to get there and back.

Let me state, there is no gas shortage. This was all cause by sheeps in a panic.

On my way to work in Dallas this morning I saw a couple stations out of gas and a couple with long lines - though not as long as yesterday afternoon.

I filled up before the hurricane came just in case, but now I'm less than half a tank. I, too, might be stuck at home this labor day weekend when we had plans for travel.

I know the feeling. Same thing in the RGV "The sky is falling"

The next day, I got gas without a problem.

I compared it to Holland's tulipmania of 1637 ... but my wife had no idea what I was talking about ... and she is usually a reservoir of useless info that dominates jeopardy.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Lol. The early days of futures trading. I remember reading about it years ago and thinking how silly it was, but hey ... much of the cryptocurrency market is similar.

You want gas to go to a soccer tournament? you are calling others selfish? Your soccer tournament isn't a priority. What do you think others are doing with this gas that is of lower priority than what you are doing?

This is in Austin and Dallas, areas not affected by Harvey. If people continued as normal without spreading fear and panic that there is a gas shortage, everyone can travel on Labor Day as normal. Instead, we have dipwads hoarding gas and filling them up in trash cans for a nonexistent apocalypse.

Uh there is a gas shortage. 1/3 of the US refinery capacity is offline.

The short-term gas shortage right now is being driven by irrational demand, not lack of supply.

while true nobody knows when 1/3 of US refinery capacity will come back online. If there isn't a shortage now, there could be in the future and there is a very real reason for that. It's not something someone made up. No excuse for idiots like that guy hoarding gasoline though.

I heard experts say that there were enough reserves for a while. The short-term shortage is mainly because supply is going to resupply routes and priority areas first.

The shortages in Austin and Dallas are just from panic.
