[for the fwiw bin] Did Refs miss an 8-second violation to end the game?

[Update] Ronnie Nunn says rule is when ball crosses midcourt line. Although, many are arguing with him on Twitter, citing NCAA and HS rules.
    --------------------------------------------

Not so much complaining, as it is very close. I'm mainly wondering: Is this not reviewable?

Video below can also be used in the "We fouled" or not argument, if you want.

The ball crosses half court before 2.6 seconds. Just barely, though.

EDIT: Didn't see small text. Never mind. Screw the refs. Carry on.

A team is considered to have crossed midcourt when the ball and both of the ballhandler’s feet are in the frontcourt.

    You should read.

Yeah I was wondering about 8 seconds because I was like why tf aren't they fouling. Great heads up by Kawhi to throw it in the air to the frontcourt (although dangerous) I think in real time it's too close to call.

Was definitely a foul on bev when aldridge caught it but whatever it's over and I'm ready to move one.

Yep that crossed my mind but didn't know if it was the actual rule

I expect the NBA to admit the mistake

The 8 second call ABSOLUTELY needs to be reviewed in that situation. But it turns out, its not a reviewable call according to the NBA guidelines for the Replay Center.

    I'm absolutely floored it isn't.

This should be absolutely reviewable, if not it's even more ridiculous

Clearly 3 horrendous calls to end the game, among the many others against the Rockets.

    1) No foul call on Nene put back...clearly hacked.
    2) No 8 second violation...clearly 8 second violation
    3) Clearly intentional foul on Aldridge, no foul called

How does the NBA not suspend Refs when they have such an influence with such bad calls to end games like this?

    PETITION?

NBA replay s awful. Weird rules about what is and is not reviewable and it takes forever.

I'm kind of at the point where NBA replays are 50/50 to me whether they are to the benefit of the game. Can't replay fouls - why not? Can't replay 8 seconds? Why not? Then the things you do replay take 12 years.

I mean these guys are SUPER SUPER SUPER concerned when an extra 0.1 or 0.2 or 0.5 seconds come off the clock at certain times. and I get it, games have been won with that time difference. But to actually try and get a correct foul call, or a correct 8 second call in the final minutes of a game has a much bigger impact.

It's very weird. They should have a challenge system as well,if they're going to have replay.

    I don't get this.

How can an official determine if its an 8 second violation if the ball is in the air? What if it passes the mid court line right at 8 seconds? Or 7.9 seconds? Or 8.1 seconds? That's just impossible to call...and apparently unreviewable?!?!?

    1) Can't expect the refs to make that call there in that situation

    2) You can totally expect the refs to call the game better than they did the final 3-4 minutes of the game

Sure it should have been called.
But before we refer to it as a situation where we were cheated, lets remember that even if it was called, we still would have been down two. Its not a call that led to a basket or anything. That makes a huge difference.

Who tf is Ronnie Nunn and why is this the second time im seeing him? The rule is possession of ball with both feet over the line.
