how's he cheap? he payed over 2 billion for the rockets, more than any other owner, knowing he had to pay an aging paul and then he payed capela. trading for paul was not his choice.
Poor guy, paid 2 billion on an asset that grows in value every year and generates $60m+ in annual profits (after everything is paid for) even in a mediocre economy. Let's hold hands and pray for him. How can anyone ask him to pocket 50m instead of 60m? The man has been tortured enough.
my title hopes pretty much died once Jimmy Butler got sent to Philly...the same Jimmy Butler who is averaging 20, 5, and 3 to go along with 2 spg on 52-55-86 shooting splits and has already hit 2 game winners for the Sixers he was my main hope for salvaging this season...at this point, I’m just hoping that Morey can bolster the roster enough to get us back to the WCF and have us be competitive against GS
The LeBron sign and trade was very different. Miami didn't need Cleveland to sign LeBron. It wasn't an opt in and trade. If Houston could have signed Paul outright then there would be no issue of giving up too many assets. That's an irrelevant comparison.
that's easy for a fan to say, but he's a business man, and a business man's goal is always to make money. He's already in the negative over paying for the rockets, harden, and paul, so you want him to lose more money? at least be realistic. there's not many owners or GMs who would pay ariza 15 million cuz he aint worth it. nor would he make that much of a difference when harden paul and gordon were sucking it up anways in the beginning. why not blame them?
True, he is only has 4th most expensive team in the NBA. Why we don't have 200 mil more expensive team than the Warriors I have no clue.
Sounds like Ariza is pushing his way out already. I'd expect him to be an option after the trade deadline.
lulz. If we get him back, that's borderline circumvention to get around the cap. #NewMath is right btw: would you say he prefers going home to LA? I could easily see Coach Lebron moving Kuzma to 6th Man role and giving Ariza a starting position to get him.
That doesn't happen if you are courting him, but ok, let's assume you are correct, then you need to have Luc ready to be signed, letting them both walk was stupid. DD
Only if we stand pat. Morey and Tilman have options that can at least get us back to WCF. What Morey does during this short CP/Harden window may define his legacy.
Watching Jimmy Butler make those contributions to the 76ers really hurts. The "CP3 rest game" is exactly why you get a Butler. Gives you THREE guys that can take over a game. And allow you to rest guys if needed. Butler gave the team a higher ceiling and increased the margin for error. Not sure there is a player out there "available" that can bring everything to the table that Butler does. So, Morey will probably need to make moves at he margins (bench depth) to give the team a chance
Yay, CH44 has returned! I'll tell you what though, if Ariza doesn't come back to the Rockets, I hope to HELL he doesn't go to the Warriors. They could use a wingman of his stature in their bench lineup. That would be the ultimate gut punch.
