All right, mofos! It's time to get this league back on the go again for another year. I assume our core group of 8 is coming back (you better!). The owners of the Stinky Punks and Da Yankees will not be back, so there are two open spots this year... seems like this always happens.

Anyway, please post here to check in. Or, respond to the mass e-mail I'm going to send out.

The league is already renewed and paid for, and the entry fee this time around is going to be $6.00 US each. So, when you get a chance, please send six bucks to joshgillard (at) hotmail.com

    Here are some dates:

March 9th: Keeper declaration deadline. Your 4 keepers must be declared by this day. If this is not done by midnight of this day, I will pick them for you. You can declare them early if you want, and can change your mind however often you want up until the deadline, but March 9th is when they absolutely MUST be declared, because we'll be starting the draft the next day.

March 10th: This is the tentative day we will start the draft.

Here is some information for anyone who wants to join our family:

    Fanstar league: http://www.fantasybaseballsite.com/baseball/clutchcity/

We play a split week head-to-head fantasy points format, with game periods running Mon-Thur and Fri-Sun. Each stat is worth a set number of points. If you have more total points than your opponent during a game period, then you get a win. It's a lot like fantasy football scoring, actually. Here is the complete scoring system:

    Hitting
    Hits: 1 point
    Runs: 1 point
    Doubles: 1 point
    Triples: 2 points
    Home Runs: 3 points
    RBIs: 1 point
    Stolen Bases: 2 points
    Caught Stealing: -1point
    Walks: 1 point
    Strikeouts: -1 point
    Errors: -1 point
    Grand Slams: 3 points
    HBP: 1 point

    Pitching
    Innings Pitched: 3 points
    Hit Allowed: -1 point
    Walks Allowed: -1 point
    Strikeouts: 1 point
    Earned Runs: -1 point
    Wins: 10 points
    Losses: -5 points
    Saves: 10 points
    Blown Saves: -5 points
    Complete Games: 5 points
    Shutouts: 10 points
    No-Hitter: 20 points
    Perfect Game: 30 points

    Each team starts:

    Hitters
    C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, Util, 4 OF

    Pitchers
We use game limits for pitchers, not innings. This means that you get a set number of SP and RP games that you can use however you want throughout the season. I believe you get 155 games for SP and 130 games for RP. You can start up to 7 pitchers each game period. Generally speaking, if you leave the same 5 SP and 2 RP in your lineup all the time, you will run out of pitcher games roughly at the end of the season. If you constantly tweak the lineup to start more, then you will run out of your games faster and vice versa.

Entry fee is six bucks each by paypal (see above).

Each team has 4 keepers. We're pretty active, and if you aren't doing well you can trade for players, better keepers, draft picks, etc.. for next year.

I like when guys use as their keepers, someone who may never agree to a contract... :D :D :D

By the way I am still willing to move one of my keepers for draft picks if anyone wants to, just let me know...... (Texaria, Hamilton, Lee, Shields, Ramirez, Soriano and possibly Nathan) .......... just putting that out there......

Hey guys... hate to be that guy, but I think I'm going to drop out this year. My bandwidth for fantasy sports has been pretty low lately. Both my fantasy basketball teams are reflecting that.

I might come back next year, but this is just a really bad time for me.

We'll see how it goes. If worst comes to worst, we can always cut it back to 8 teams. Would not like to go any lower than that, though.

Hey guys... I've strung two good days together, so I'm in a good mood right now. I guess I'll go ahead and play again this year, if I'm still welcome.

I do have a 2 week old baby at home and some tight deadlines at work, but I'll try to not let that affect the draft. On the other hand, I'll probably be the one sending lists this year, and my list is probably going to suck.

Man... this is hard because my team is awesome. ;)
