Lets lower the bar some. I'd be ecstatic if he's even Bargarni.

I never compared him to hakeem, just that his spin move is almost as quick. He's definitely more Pau Gasol.

Almost any human being can become motivated by a fat contract extension. I'm not worried about motivation in the NBA

He'll be a PF -- you can write that down.

He's got some nice back to the basket moves and he's an amazing passer for someone his size. I don't know what it means for Patterson, but I sure wouldn't pass on a 7 footer with his offensive potential because of PPat. One way or another, it will work itself out.

I wanted him at #14 -- very glad we were able to trade up and nab him. I'm not expecting immediate dividends.. but two years from now I think we could have a very good player.

Has anyone mentioned that he's left handed? AND 7 foot? I'm in love.

    Center, not Power Forward.

Very much this. Dirk is basically a 7 foot small forward (not saying that to detract from him -- he probably has the greatest fadeaway jumper in the history of basketball, and to me he's now one of the greatest PFs of all time). This guy already has more post moves than Dirk and he hasn't even set foot in the NBA yet. His game is much more similar to Pau Gasol's than it is to Dirk's. Of course, whether he turns out to be nearly that good remains to be seen. I definitely like the move.

Why do we want a 7 footer who cant play any defense and is known to have motor and toughness issues?

Ryan Anderson at best. David Anderson at worst.

With the size he's put on, he'll be getting his minutes at the center spot - especially on a team starving for height.
