I caught some of this debate last night on CNN. This woman is a laughing stock. She's couldn't name a recent Supreme Court decision that she disagrees with, she thinks China is trying to take over the US, she wouldn't admit that evolution exists, and she kept calling her opponent (Coons) a Marxist. Videos here.
For starters, how can someone of her intellectual caliber get so far politically? When Sarah Palin first hit the scene, I figured it was a fluke. I guess not.
please. there have been far more ridiculous people, on both sides, that have come before. I honestly dont know why people think politicians are necessarily smart to begin with.
The current supreme court is fairly conservative. So why would she disagree with them if she is a conservative? Lots of Christians feel this way. It doesn't make them dumb. Coons called himself a Marxist
Coons is actually smart, he has a JD from Yale Law. Christine O'Donnell got her bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2010.
What a load of crap for an excuse. Sorry, but if you agree, 100% lock-step, with every supreme court decision, that looks almost as bad as if you were unaware of them in the first place. Deciding between someone who can't think for themselves and someone who doesn't think at all is a losing proposition. Based on the evidence we have today, yes. If you don't acknowledge that evolution exists, you are either too stupid to understand it, or you're in denial.
It was clear from her demeanor that she couldn't even name a recent Supreme Court decision, irregardless of whether she agreed with it or not. MODERATOR: What opinions, of late, that have come from our high court, do you most object to? O'DONNELL: Oh, gosh. Um, give me a specific one. I'm sorry. MODERATOR: Actually, I can't, because I need you to tell me which ones you object to. O'DONNELL: Um, I'm very sorry, right off the top of my head, I know that there are a lot, but I'll put it up on my website, I promise you.
O'Donnell doesn't necessarily believe the things she is saying regarding evolution, gay marriage, or whatever. She is running on a platform and trying to appeal to a specific type of voter. It's all a game.
Yes, she's a trainwreck and I get that Delaware is close to the major media havens of DC and NY. But in comparisons to some other candidates the GOP has put up, she's not that bad (although compared to a rational 12 year old, she's terrible). Why aren't we seeing national stories about some of these other lunatics?
You right, that was a very poor answer. I didn't watch the debate and was going off what you wrote in the OP
<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/you must be new here meme/Glo4m/You-must-be-new-here.jpg?o=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae78/Glo4m/You-must-be-new-here.jpg" border="0"></a> O'Donnell has been towing that line for years, it's not an act.
This debate was just a hail mary by the O'Donnell camp to claw back in the polls and it failed miserably. This race is over, and hopefully her 15 minutes are over.
O'Donnell has been very advantageous politically, the left has been distracted into focusing all of their typical ridicule and disdain on, of all things, the Delaware GOP senate candidate. If that seat is now your firewall, it's already a total meltdown.
