I swear this thread was about some unknown scrub brother of Hoyer.

    And the answer is 100%

He'd be like the Scrub brother of David Carr (Derek) .. . . . knowing the Texans

0%. You can't bring him back after a performance like that. And if he's the starter next year, why even play the games?

It's 50/50. We will draft someone in the 1st or 2nd, then that pick, Savage and Hoyer will compete.

Unless BOB feels like Hoyer is the worst of the 3 I don't think he gets cut.

I think the Texans will surprise a lot of people and make a run at RG3. Why not? They don't have many options unless the Lions want to trade Stafford. Draft a QB and take a chance at RG3.

Most of the fan-base feels and rightfully so, that Hoyer should be cut. But O'Brien is one arrogant, stubborn coach. O'Brien is starting to be comparable to me to the arrogance of Chip Kelly but he's not even as good of an offensive coach as Chip Kelly. Wouldn't be surprised if Hoyer is starting next year with Hackenberg as his backup. At that point they should be playing in front of an empty stadium.

Well RG3 would be the most promising of BOB's reclamation projects to date.

BOB isn't in charge of cutting or keeping anyone. Rick Smith is and after having the 3rd worst QB performance in NFL playoffs history, there's no way that Bob McNair allows Hoyer to stay on the roster. 0% chance of it.

I don't care to keep him even if he gives the team the best chance to win next year. BOB can't go another year procrastinating on hitching his wagon to a prospect. Pick a guy and start the growing pains before we're stuck in the 2006 AFC South where every team is 8-8 quality or better.

    Definitely.

But right now the only other option in FA is Sam f'n Bradford. They don't have much to choose from either way. So may as well go with the guy with the highest reward potential, draft a guy to groom, and see how it plays out.

I guess we can always trade for whoever is backing up Tom Brady nowadays too...

I'm not really sure about this. O'Brien appears to have a lot of input on who is on this team and who is not. If O'Brien doesn't have a say so in who stays and who goes, then that probably means some of his power will be taken away this off season.

If BO'B was in charge . . . Brady would have never supplanted Bledsoe

No chance. How can you seriously say you're a contender if you bring Hoyer back as your starter. He's average vs bad teams and ridiculous vs good teams.

I think normally he would have a lot of input, but Bob McNair is pretty pissed off about the QB situation, I can't imagine he'd allow garbage like Hoyer to remain with the team especially knowing how much BOB wants him to be the starter....he just can't help himself.

I think Bob McNair let it go this year and let BOB's obsession with Hoyer hurt the team this season, but no way he'll let it continue. Rick Smith will be cutting Hoyer for sure and it'll be ordered by McNair.

If BOB was in charge, Brady would have been pulled for Hoyer if he ever threw a pick.

The Texans save 5MM outright by cutting him.

Based on what we've seen, he's not even worth keeping as a backup.

It's the Tom Savage/#1 Pick show next year... Or Peyton Manning.
