If one team gives an offer and we match, whats to stop other teams from sending offers too???

 

He would never sign with the bobcats.. The suck & he wants to win..

 

We can only match if the player accepts the other teams offer. At that point, the player can only go to the team offering or stay with his current team.

Unless I am missing something:

The Bobcats have $59.5 million in salaries committed on 9 guys. So, they don't really have cap room. The most they can offer, I think, is the MLE.

I am guessing that the Rockets easily matches that. The only thing that might cause Morey to think twice is if it's a 5 year deal (starting at $5.7 mil or so... totaling $35 mil). Even then, it seems the team should match.

 

If he does not accept any other teams offer, then he takes the Rox qualifying offer by default, yes? Best case scenario would be a 3-4 year reasonable offer. Don't want to see him be a FA next year.

 

The rox would easily match a full MLE deal. That's a steal. Maybe the bobcats are thinking sign and trade?

 

I guess the bobcats want to S&T Tyson Chandler for Scola+Jefferies.

 

you tie up the offer to your cap for 7 days. during these 7 days, you can't use this amount of money to do anything. it means you could miss other free agents if at the last day other team matches your offer.

 

Do they have a RFA in hand? We need to do something for them too.
