    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...ng-trading-eric-bledsoe-have-talked-to-knicks

The Sporting News reports that the Phoenix Suns are looking at trading point guard Eric Bledsoe... which is kind of insane. The Suns inked Bledsoe to a five-year, $70 million deal after a prolonged holdout last summer. They did so despite having Goran Dragic on the roster coming of an All-Star caliber season and after having signed Isaiah Thomas to a four-year, $27 million deal in a sign-and-trade. Then at the deadline, within a few hours, the Suns traded both Dragic to the Heat and Thomas to the Celtics. They got soon-to-be-restricted-free-agent Brandon Knight back in such a deal.

So now the Suns are looking at moving Bledsoe? From the Sporting News:

The Suns had talks with the Knicks about dealing the fourth pick for point guard Eric Bledsoe and the No. 13 pick, but Phoenix has not been limited to the Knicks in that regard. The Suns have been dangling Bledsoe in trade offers this offseason and are likely to continue to do so after the draft if Bledsoe is not moved this week, sources confirmed.

Kaminsky is among the Suns' targets in the draft, but there is some question as to whether he will still be around at No. 13. Kaminsky had a good workout and meeting with Indiana, which picks No. 11. Kaminsky has not worked out with any teams beyond the 13th pick.

OK, first off, Bledsoe is a mixed bag in terms of fit for the Triangle, despite being ball-dominant. He can cut from the corner on the backdoor, but shot just 32 percent in spot-up situations, though he shot very well in the right corner, which is where he could be used in the triangle:Here's his shot chart with traditional triangle positions overlaced.

So it's not ideal, but it would work.

More importantly... are the Suns insane? Bledsoe is an All-Star caliber player, their only All-Star caliber player, and pulling off the trade for him was a major coup for their front office. Now they're looking at breaking up a combo of Dragic and Bledsoe not just in half, but completely tearing it down?

The Suns may be looking at the fact that they were unable to secure a playoff spot in the West two seasons in a row and may be faced with the reality they need to return to the tanking plan they were supposed to be set on before the surprising and very fun 2013-2014 season saw them spring into contention. Bledsoe would be a prime example of selling high, and getting the No.4 pick in the draft would be great value return on him (as long as they don't draft Kaminsky that high -- I mean, come on).

It's shocking that the Suns are reportedly so quick to completely tear down the success that they found but if they truly look at the Western Conference and believe they won't be able to contend for three or four years, there's very little value in continuing to scrap for the 9th or 10th spot in the West. Few of the playoff teams are getting worse and teams like Utah are on the rise. Perhaps the Suns are merely trying to get ahead of the curve.

Bledsoe was one of only 11 players last season to average over 24 points, eight assist, and two steals per 100 possessions, which factors speed of play while averaging over 20 minutes per contest. The other names on that list are a who's who of quality point guards, along with Knight, and, well, Tony Wroten. No list is perfect.

Knicks need to actually build a young foundation if they want long term stability.

LOL at the fact the Suns had Bledsoe, Dragic and IT. Traded Dragic. Traded IT. Traded FOR Brandon Knight and now want to trade away Bledsoe.

    Getting hot in the desert!

I honestly thought they were on a good road, then they signed Thomas and no one understood it.

Then traded their best player to Miami and Thomas as well.

Suns apparently don't know what the hell they're doing.

Suns are unclear on who their franchise guy is. Probably nobody on their roster.

Aside from an SnT for Monroe, I don't see what the Pistons have to offer. And an SnT wouldn't make sense for the Knicks, because they can just sign Monroe outright with cap space. Unless Detroit is dumb enough to give up Drummond, this is just the media making **** up.

Decided to get three starting PGs. WTF?

A year later, about to lose all three of them. WTF?

    I mean seriously. WTF?

Who is the moron that is running this ship?

Some people are coming up with just incredible trades. I think McDonough will jump off the bridge after completing that trade.

Bledsoe is not an All- Star and actually, I think Phoenix valued Dragic more than Bledsoe. All they got from The Heat were (2) Mid-Round #1 Draft picks and fillers. If the Rockets traded #18, TJ and Pappa, I think Phoenix would jump at the chance.

People need to stop devaluing TJ, just because he had a bad playoff series.....HE WAS COMING OF INJURIES AND HE WAS OUT MOST OF THE YEAR!

I'm with you on that one! How in the hell do 10 point guards get traded at the Trade Deadline and we get the worst one. A point guard who is on his way out of the league and scared to shoot the 3'!!

I think if we would've had any of the other guards that got traded, we would've gotten past GS

If #13 & Bledsoe to NY for #4 goes down, I wonder if we could get NY to budge on TJ for #13?

Or if they decline the trade, we could get Phoenix to budge on TJ for #13?

Trade the #13, #18, Ariza, D-Mo, and K-Pap to OKC for Durant.. :)

All jokes aside, if we were able to land the Pelicans pick for Asik, we can land a low lotto pick for T-Jones.

Diff situation for Dragic and Bledsoe, Dragic was disgruntled and abt to leave PHX anyway. Bledsoe is signed a decent/good deal.
If we can get Bledsoe for just #18, TJ and Pappa, I will do it in a heartbeat. Hell, I will gladly throw in that #32 as well. Bledsoe is a borderline allstar and singed to a decent soon to be great deal.
