can't we're stuck with his contract and if Morey can't move him before trade deadline, it basically means we lost out on a potential championship because of his contract because his salary prevents us from signing another star next off-season. We'd have to gut our depth even more to sign Lebron.

Depends on the Rockets needs. If we need cap space for a player like LeBron James or Paul George and there are no alternatives; then they likely stretch him over the 5 year max and clear about $12,000,000 next year. If the Rockets do that, then it is almost a guarantee the Rockets also move Gordon to clear his money off the books. Another possibility if they just want Anderson gone is to try moving him for Nicholas Batum, Chandler Parsons or another big contract player under achieving.
