I was having a conversation with my neighbor and he got a reaction out of it like it wasn't normal. I can't be the only one who feels this way, right? I see animals as innocent creatures and I see humans even the good ones with sins.

Oh there are tons of people that share your interests.

They are called vegans or misanthropes. A lot of overlap between the two as well.

I have empathy for both. Do anymals have annoying counterparts of their own? Yeah.

You're a sinner too since you're human. Aligning yourself with animals doesn't make you less a sinner. Theyre not the ones inviting you into their moral purity club. It makes you judgmental and condescending. Animal support isnt all about animal preservation, its mostly to project scorn and contempt on humans. (And its got SJW and "trigger" elements written ALL over it)

Not at all saying its bad. I don't like animals being endangered, breaks my heart that giraffes are on the list. Its just the advocacy rubs the wrong way lol

Pick between your fur child or a random stranger you've never seen before!?

    My pup makes the cut.

Does hunting bother you more than people who murder? I assume not.

But I understand completely the aversion killing animals -- particularly more complex mammalian creatures -- "for fun".

Hunting for food doesn't bother me much. Hunting for sport bothers me a lot.

It isn't weird you feel that way, but it's weird you would share that information openly.

I think the ultimate delimiter in this debate is kids. Do you have kids? I do. I love my dogs but they're just dogs. My kids get priority and preferential treatment.

I've noted that people who have never had kids treat their animals LIKE their kids and have a similar perspective as you, OP.

Nothing wrong with it at all.

No your not, most here won't admit it though. It has always surprised me that a thread here will get 3X more attention for a sick or dead dog than a human. For the record I will support any of yall for a loss animal or not.

Even if the animal is quickly killed? That's the important thing to me.
