Stinks that Miller has thrown so many pitches in a game that is now a blowout. Guess you could say it's not a blowout without his work, though

Yeah, you're down 6-0, you hit a gapper, what you really want to do right there is toss the bat and admire your fly ball.

    Cub.

Yep. And so were the Indians. And so were the Astros in 2005.

    That's baseball for you.

Weird signings for the Braves. Why pay for old starting pitchers when you're still in the beginning stages of a complete rebuild? I get signing one but seems strange. Giving up 40% of your rotation to guys that combine to be 85 years old...unless that is part of the plan to really really tank.

Looks like both Edwin/Bautista are leaving Toronto. Makes me sad -- but I trust Shapiro/Atkins

They are one year deals, so age is not too relevant as long as they can consistently consume innings. Even rebuilding teams need someone to fill the SP slots. You can't just throw random rookies out there, or your bullpen is going to get overworked / injured / ruined / etc. So if they feel they only have 3 MLB-ready younger ones, these are good filler. They can always trade them mid-season like we did with Feldman.

**** happens. I'm grateful, but the Astros have a great young nucleus. Can't ask for much more.
