Thomas has double the amount of assists and averages 9 points more than Lin. If you say Thomas is a scrub player, than lin must be much worse.

How about you look at FGA which is correlated with PPG? Lin even has a slightly higher FG% but they these are LOF stats no one cares

 

Lin is a sometimes starter for Charlotte while Thomas is a starter for Boston.

I know it's not fair, but Thomas is a better point guard.

I don't watch Boston nearly enough to know whether or not Thomas is a better PG. But I do know that Lin has never started at PG for the Hornets, so comparing their stats to evaluate their ability at PG is meaningless.

Beverley is not as good a PG as Lin. If you use the skills contest as a measure, then you believe Bev is a better PG than John Wall and Kyle Lowry...hopefully you are not stupid enough to believe that. And Bev's contract of $25M over 4 years is, per season, smaller than Lin's $25M over 3 years...not sure where you're getting your math.

Clarkson is a very good athlete, but a mediocre PG. That he "secures a starting gig" on a team that has gone 9-40 and drafted his replacement with the 2nd overall pick doesn't say much.

Thomas wasn't even in any discussions among Lin fans until Thomas decided to insult Lin. Thomas is the one who was trash-talking here.

Lin is getting 27 minutes per game, and that number is increasing as the season goes along. Will see how the market values him at the end of the season...by all accounts, Charlotte is happy with him, and the sports media seems to think he is rejuvenating his career and value with the production his is putting up.

I.Thomas is not good.
I think I probably would take Lin over Thomas in my teams. As backups. If Thomas hadn't elite defensive wings next to him he wouldnt' be able to be hidden. And even a great coach as Stevens isnt' able to reign him in with his chucking from time to time.

The accounts are a matter of media perception not born out in his numbers. Maybe you didn't learn about stats at Yale, hard to believe.

With the better numbers bolded, you can easily see his career numbers are all better with the exception of ppg, minutes per game, turnovers per game. So he's playing a bit more overall, playing worse on offense and the same on defense (oh that defensive stopper!) but wow everyone is excited about his play! Weeeeeeeeee!
