Mike should switch Harden and Paul’s spots in the rotation. THAT would be a tremendous adjustment. No more Gobert for Harden to deal with. Being so predictable on so many levels is insane.
I wish they’d have fired this clown and hired Budenholzer this past summer. That guy is an absolute genius.
You don't get credit for being an assistant!!! Well . . . I guess Horry is the Goat cause he got 7 Rings he at least better than Jordon Rocket River
Funny how all these guys come out with opinions - Barkley, Kellerman, etc. - when we lose. After our wins we get little no praise and very little coverage on the morning shows.
As I mentioned in my other post, Pops is the only coach I trust making in game adjustments. There really isnt anyone else in the league I trust doing this.
I don't care who you trust who tf are you? What if I say MJ is the only one I trust taking last second shots every other player in the NBA can't shoot the ball in the last few secs of the game? Regardless whether you, some anonymous person in the internet, trust them or not in game adjustments are important and it's a big reason why MDA still doesn't have a ring. Let's see if his luck is better this year if Kerr still owns him and Harden can't compensate he should be fired imo, all the conditions are ripe if the Rox still can't win they're never gonna win with MDA.
? This is a forum for opinions, chill simpleton. The Rockets did exactly what I said they do, and it worked. They made the adjustment of utilizing Nene as the primary backup C this game and it worked. My point was that most teams make adjustments after a game and implement it one game at a time instead of possession by possession like its some video game. Easy to blame a coach when you don't know much about basketball and were picked last in PE every time. The reality is if you make a change you have to see it through and give it time, you play one guy over the other, you give him some real burn like a game, you dont just remove someone if they dont hit their first shot.
Feigen: Mike D'Antoni rarely changes his substitution pattern to have one defender match up with one scorer, at least not when LeBron James is not in the building. By Game 5, however, he wanted Gordon on Mitchell from the time Mitchell got off the bus until he said "good luck next round" on the way out. Mitchell is that dangerous. Gordon was that good. Mitchell took off in Game 4 when Gordon was on the bench to start the fourth quarter. He had scored 12 points in the first three quarters. He had 13 in the three minutes Gordon sat. D'Antoni was not going to go through that again if he could help it, to the point that when Jazz coach Quin Snyder pulled Mitchell for a quick chat early in the second half, D'Antoni sat Gordon, too. When Mitchell headed to the scorers' table to return 2:34 later, Gordon got up, too. With Gordon on him on nearly every step, Mitchell made 4 of 22 shots, getting just one assist with five turnovers. Gordon's 3-point shooting – he was 4 for 8 from deep – remained crucial. He made 48.6 percent of his 3s in the series. But his defense on the young Jazz star was the difference. Though Gordon was the Sixth Man of the Year in his first season with the Rockets, runner-up last season, he has often been overshadowed by Harden or Paul, and even by the growth and highlight material of Capela. There was no missing his importance against the Jazz. And he will be just as vital against either Klay Thompson or Lou Williams, with a good chance to have his minutes again match another high scorer.
Here's the reality. Most analysts and fans aren't perceptive enough to even pick up on "adjustments." The idea that the Rockets make no adjustments is laughable. What fans mean when they say it on this site is "STOP SHOOTING 3S OMGZ!' It is true that they aren't going to make THAT adjustment. But they do make adjustments.
LOL what in-game adjustments when the Rockets had 6 playable men in games 6 and 7 did you think should have been made? Espeically when the Rockets went into halftime with the lead each game? "Hey guys, we somehow have the lead despite being incredibly undermanned - let's change it up!" How does this make any sense? And shut up about the Rudy T rockets making adjustments. He nearly blew the Knicks series because he stuck with the same big lineup and rotations - it took him an entire year to figure out that he didn't need a true 4 next to Hakeem or that Sam Cassell was his best PG.
Lol at the no adjustments. Rockets first play looked like it was in response to Gobert's defense in game 4.
and the Refs favored the other team We won this 5th game .. . . . can someone point out the Adjustments that we made 1. We Played NeNe Next? Rocket River
Next year Rockets should get a center that can shoot 3s. This will force Gobert to get outside the paint
