Nobody. Certainly not Asik if that's where you're trying to go.

I am not saying anything negative about Morey. I am just saying that OP's analogy between Clippers and us does not apply. There is always a trade off between taking chances at the next player or staying with what you have and grow them. Let's say possessions are like resources to be allocated to the players for them to grow, we basically allocated all our resources to Harden (some to Dmo), and try to fill in the rest of the spots with luck. That is different from what Clippers did. therefore, there is no basis to claim that next year we will grow to where Clippers is now.

He got 46 and 43 in the first two games. It dropped to 23 and 29 after we put Asik on him. His FG% was 55% and 64% in the first two games and dropped to 36 and 52%.

Enough said. You can say that Asik did not shut down LMA. Sure.

Barnes could be right, but we had zero business losing against POR last season. They weren't more experienced than us and we had HCA. Rockets had zero business losing game 1 this year or getting beat down games 3 and 4. If our squad continues making only baby steps, they won't amount to anything significant.

we've got to keep the core together for a couple years in order to grow.

constantly throwing new players together and expecting them to play like they've been together for years makes no sense.

i get that we needed the overturn in order to rebuild... but at this point i think we should leave the important guys together.

I think the Clippers leap has less to do with experience together and more to do with Blake and Jordan both taking leaps forward and fulfilling their potential. you could argue that going through those playoff losses helped them do that though.

I just don't want this type of thinking to be the excuse. Ultimately I think the Clips are more talented - they nearly have a true big 3, with Jordan being elite defensively - and Redick and Barnes are great role players. I still think if we are at our best we can beat them and anything less than a 7 game series will be disappointing, given how we played in games 1, 3, and 4.

Bottom line is, no excuses. Harden, Dwight, and Ariza have all been to the Finals. They know what it takes.

This year's Clippers team reminds me of last year's Clippers teams. They have all of the talent and can get big leads, but can't seem to close it out.

This is true; however, in games 1, 3, and 4, the Rockets really lacked effort on transition defense. Also, as I stated on page 1 ITT, the Rockets have played well at times as a team, but just lacked consistency in the playoffs. They played well for 2 whole games vs the Mavs. Against the Clippers they played well the end of the 3rd and entire 4th quarter of game 2, the entire game 5, and the end of the 3rd + entire 4th of game 6.

But you are right, hitting open jumpers is a big part of this. Before the last game, the Rockets were shooting .322 from behind the arc and ranking 11th out of 16 playoff teams. In one game, they've jumped up to .344 I think and are now 9th iirc. Hitting shots and the effort probably are associated with each other, even though they shouldn't be.

Anyhow, I still don't think the Rockets have been as consistent overall as much as they need to be (or they would have won the series already), but they have the potential. They've finally shown extended stretches of brilliant team play the last couple of games and I hope they've found it for good. They'll need every bit of that focus and execution tonight and for a legit chance to beat GS.

Where was Barnes when the real tough guys of the game started to impose their will? Oh thats right on the bench pretending to be a tough guy.

Doc took him out because he couldn't shoot. I actually think he's a real tough guy, but he's just average as a player, mainly because he's not a good shooter. He's also injured. While I'd love to see Dwight clock him in the face, what's more important is for Dwight to just keep is cool and dominate the boards whenever Barnes tries to hold on to him a little longer and annoy him with his tactics. Barnes resorts to tactics to try to get under the Rockets' skin. Just ignore him and he can become easily unimportant, just like the last game. Good thing for the Rockets, Crawford was shooting just as badly.

Nah, he's a p***y ass b**** who hides behind comments he makes on a computer or when he knows he will have security or his teammates to slack him up. He's a middle class poser who tatted himself up and assumed a made up persona. Wanksta.
